A lovely day for counselling!

Boundaries Affirmation: when we learned to keep-the-people-pleased (at all costs), we naturally develop a warped relationship with change.

As in, we can’t. 🫣

We can’t do anything to change if it might cause other people to be unhappy or uncomfortable.

And so we don’t.

Which means we push down our own needs, discount our feelings, and deny our dreams (as we continue to live lives focused on everyone else staying happy).

Until we finally break in the process.

And that’s the sad rub of it all. 💔

Either way, the changes we so desperately need are going to happen…

Whether by our choice or by our breaking.

What do you choose?

If this describes you, I’d like to share this boundaries affirmation with you today:

The changes you need are real.

And minimizing or denying them only contributes to greater suffering down the road.

You don’t have to wait until you break to give yourself permission to make needed changes.

That’s a boundary.
