Tunbridge Wells Care Centre is a modern, purposely and sensitively built 70 bedded nursing home situated in a pleasant residential area of Tunbridge Wells. It is easily accessible by road and public transport and local shops and amenities are just a short walk away.

It’s time to celebrate everyone’s favourite frozen treat! Whether you prefer a classic cone, a creamy sundae, or an adventurous flavour like lavender honey or rocky road, today is all about indulging in a little (or a lot of) ice cream goodness.

Did you know that ice cream dates back to ancient Persia, where people used to mix snow with grape juice for a sweet frozen delight? Fast forward to today, and we have thousands of flavours and endless ways to enjoy this beloved dessert.

🐍🌍 Happy World Snake Day! 🌍🐍
Today, we celebrate these fascinating, misunderstood creatures that play a vital role in our ecosystems. Did you know there are over 3,000 species of snakes worldwide, ranging from the tiny Barbados threadsnake (just 10 cm long) to the giant reticulated python, which can grow over 30 feet? 😲

Snakes help control pests, maintain balance in food chains, and some even provide life-saving venom used in medicines. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their importance and beauty (even if they give some of us the chills)! 🌿

of our sports day on a super sunny day in our garden ☀️We started with dice games to warm up our competitors, and as the games went on it got more competitive with varied events such as javelin and rocket shooting. The most popular game of the day was Super Soaker Water Catcher - our chosen 'targets' were Rachel, head of activities, with relatives Helen and Jordan! Residents raced to fill up the water buckets, however, it was not an easy task to hit the targets! We couldn't agree on an overall winner as everyone worked so hard in that game, so the only fitting thing to do was to pour cooling water over their heads for the finale!

Mihaita, one of our senior care assistants, gave us a demonstration of Taekwondo moves for us and even gave a show of his strength and technique by breaking a plank of wood 💪 At the end of the afternoon, Amelia tallied up the score - third place was Grosvenor, second place was Woodbury, and taking home the trophy for the second year running was.....Knightsbridge 🏆 A lovely afternoon had by all and some wonderful sunny summer memories 😍

Today, we celebrate the diversity and interconnectedness of the 8 billion people who share this planet. Closer to home, the UK’s population is currently around 68 million, making it the 21st most populous country in the world! 🏘️

Did you know that England is home to 84% of the UK population, with London alone housing over 9 million people? Despite its relatively small size, the UK is one of the most densely populated countries in Europe.

Let’s use this day to reflect on the importance of sustainability, community, and working together to support our growing global and local populations.

☀️ Fun in the Sun at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre! ☀️
What a beautiful day we’ve had! This morning, our residents made the most of the sunshine with a colourful fruit platter and a soundtrack of classic hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Whether it was chatting with friends and family or simply closing our eyes and soaking up the sun, everyone found a moment of peace and joy. Even the local ducks popped by for a little snack! 🦆🍓🎶

This afternoon, we kept the good vibes going with our fabulous fortnightly workout class led by Wendy — and yes, we did it all outdoors under the warm summer sky! 🧘‍♀️🌞💪

Today, we celebrate one of the world’s sweetest treats—chocolate! Did you know that chocolate has been enjoyed for over 3,000 years, dating back to the ancient Mayans and Aztecs, who used cacao beans to make a bitter drink called "xocolatl"? They even used cacao beans as currency—talk about valuable snacks! 💰🍫

Whether you love it dark, milk, white, or stuffed with caramel, today is the perfect day to indulge in your favourite chocolatey delight. 🍩🍪

🌞 Summer Picnic with the St John’s 9th Girl Guides! 🌸
What a beautiful evening we had last night at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre as we welcomed the wonderful St John’s 9th Girl Guides for a special summer picnic! 💜
We tucked into a delicious spread of sandwiches, sausage rolls, and savoury nibbles, followed by an irresistible selection of pastries and cakes for pudding – a real treat for everyone! 🧁🥪
The Girl Guides spent time chatting with our residents, asking about their childhood memories, favourite foods, and holiday adventures. Some of our residents shared fascinating wartime stories, and a few even reminisced about their own time as Girl Guides! 🌍🕯️
As the sun began to set, we sang songs, shared laughter, and even had a little dance together – a magical way to end a warm summer’s day. 🎶💃
Thank you to the St John’s 9th Girl Guides for bringing so much joy, curiosity, and kindness. We had such a lovely night and hope to see you all again soon! 💫💛

This morning we had our usual coffee morning but with a summery twist! 🌞 While enjoying the sunshine in our lovely garden, Rachel and Amelia 'armed' our residents with water pistols! It was so much fun to share in a activity that reminded us of childhood. Norah particularly enjoyed using her water pistol with unerring accuracy all morning! 😆After drenching each other amid howls of laughter, we all tucked into yummy cakes and refreshing drinks, as we dried off chatting in the warm summer sun! 😍

At our coffee morning, we were joined by students from Grove Park School who spent time with our residents, discussing their studies, hobbies and all the other things they love doing! Can't wait to have them back again - it's wonderful for our residents to swap stories about their childhood with young people in 2025!
