When a customer’s appetite began to decline, her family turned to us for support. What started as one lunchtime visit a day quickly became a weekday routine and the results have been incredible.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be gourmet food. What matters is care, presentation and understanding the person. A well-prepared sandwich, thoughtfully put together, can make all the difference and our team know that.

With personalised meals, gentle structure and warm companionship, she’s now eating better, gaining healthy weight and feeling more confident day by day; https://braeburncare.co.uk/supporting-wellbeing-through-mealtimes/

This is what personalised meal support in home care really looks like - easing pressure on families and helping loved ones feel nourished, supported and seen.

Today marks World Lewy Body Dementia Day (28 January) - a moment to pause, reflect and raise awareness of a condition that is still often misunderstood.

For the people living with Lewy Body Dementia, and for the families supporting them, day-to-day life can feel unpredictable. Symptoms fluctuate. Confidence can waver. And knowing what support is right - or when - isn’t always clear.

At Braeburn Care, we see first-hand how the right care, delivered with understanding and consistency, can make a real difference. Familiar surroundings, calm routines and skilled support at home often provide reassurance not just for the individual, but for the whole family.

We’ve shared a piece on our website today to mark World Lewy Body Dementia Day, focused on understanding the condition, supporting families, and why person-centred care at home matters so much; https://braeburncare.co.uk/lewy-body-dementia-care-at-home-understanding-supporting-and-caring-together/

If Lewy Body Dementia has touched your life, we hope it offers insight, reassurance and a sense that you’re not alone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do.

Supporting someone to remain living safely and comfortably in their own home - with familiar routines, surroundings and faces - can make all the difference, not just to the person receiving care, but to their family too.

Hearing Tracy speak about trust, reassurance and peace of mind means everything to our team. It’s exactly what we strive to provide through our home care and live-in care services every single day.

If you’re exploring care for yourself or a loved one and want a service built on compassion, continuity and genuine connection, we’re always happy to have a conversation.

Out for a walk, taking it at their pace 🐾

Pets are family and they’re never an afterthought at Braeburn Care. For so many of the people we support, having a beloved pet at home brings comfort, routine and companionship. Dogs, cats and other pets can make a house feel alive, reduce loneliness and bring real joy to everyday life.

But there are times when caring for a pet becomes just a little harder - whether that’s managing daily dog walks, feeding routines, vet appointments or simply keeping up with the energy they need… that’s where we can step in.

As part of our wider support services, our team can help with pet care and dog walking, ensuring animals continue to be well cared for while their owners enjoy peace of mind. It means pets stay where they belong - at home, with the people who love them - and routines can continue safely and happily.

Because supporting someone well means caring about everything that matters to them… including the paws 🐶🐾

Today is Brew Monday - a gentle reminder that sometimes the most meaningful support starts with something simple: a cup of tea and a conversation.

can feel long and quiet. The festive rush has passed, routines return, and for many people - especially older adults and family carers - this time of year can feel particularly isolating.

Brew Monday encourages us to pause and check in. To ask how someone’s really doing. To listen without rushing. To remind one another that no one has to carry things alone; https://braeburncare.co.uk/brew-monday-2026-a-cuppa-a-chat-and-checking-in-on-one-another/

Whether it’s a quick phone call, a shared cuppa, or a message to someone you’ve been meaning to check in on, those small moments of connection can make a real difference.

And if you, or someone you care about, are feeling overwhelmed or would simply benefit from a little extra support at home, our team is always here for a friendly, no-obligation conversation. Sometimes, reaching out is the hardest - and bravest - first step; 01892 577680 | enquiries@braeburncare.co.uk | www.braeburncare.co.uk

Good care is about so much more than completing tasks or following a schedule. It’s about the reassurance someone feels once the door has closed, the confidence built through familiar faces, and the quiet comfort of knowing they are genuinely cared for.

🔶 It’s the calm that remains after a visit.
🔶 The trust that grows over time.
🔶 The sense of dignity, independence and safety that care done well brings into someone’s home.

These moments don’t always shout the loudest, but they matter deeply - to our customers, to their families, and to the wider community we support.

Every day, our Care Professionals show up with compassion, patience and professionalism, often in challenging circumstances, always putting people first. It’s this commitment to doing care well that makes such a lasting difference.

To our team, our customers and their families: thank you for being part of a community built on trust, kindness and genuine care. https://braeburncare.co.uk

When people think about home care, they often picture help with daily tasks. But truly good care goes much further than that.

Recently, one of our customers asked if a member of our team could be present during a home appointment to discuss new hearing aids. She felt anxious, worried about being mis-sold, and didn’t want to navigate an important decision alone... Of course, we said yes.

From being there during the initial conversation, to supporting fitting appointments, follow-ups and warranty checks, our role was simple: to provide reassurance, clarity and confidence and to stand alongside her every step of the way.

This is what advocacy in home care support really looks like. Not taking over. Not rushing decisions. Just ensuring people feel safe, informed and supported in their own home; https://braeburncare.co.uk/advocacy-in-action-how-home-care-support-builds-confidence-choice-and-peace-of-mind/

If you or a loved one would value calm, trusted support through important decisions, we’re just a phone call away to talk things through; 01892 577680 | enquiries@braeburncare.co.uk | www.braeburncare.co.uk

Our Behind the Uniform series celebrates the people who make Braeburn Care what it is - the compassion, experience, and dedication behind every visit and every smile.

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Lorraine, one of our Care Professionals whose journey into care began right here with Braeburn Care back in 2017. Since then, Lorraine has gone on to build a wealth of experience across both community and residential settings, developing particular strength in supporting people living with dementia and those approaching end of life. Following our re-launch, we were delighted to welcome her back to the team, bringing with her not only extensive experience, but the compassion and reassurance that define exceptional care.

Reflecting on being back with Braeburn Care, Lorraine shared: “It’s so nice to be back – I’m loving every minute and I feel me again!”

We’re so proud to have Lorraine in the Braeburn Care family and grateful for the compassion and skill she brings to every customer she supports. 🌟 If you’d like to be part of an award-winning team that values and supports you, explore careers with us at: https://braeburncare.co.uk/careers/

When care needs become complex, families often assume residential care is the only option.

In reality, live-in care can provide highly skilled, compassionate support at home - even for dementia, hospital discharge and end-of-life care. It offers continuity, reassurance and dignity during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Our latest blog explores how live-in care for complex needs supports both individuals and families, and why it’s increasingly seen as a preferred option - not a last resort; https://braeburncare.co.uk/live-in-care-for-complex-needs-dementia-hospital-discharge-end-of-life-support/

When care enters a home, it doesn’t just affect one person - it touches everyone around them. Behind every customer is a family juggling emotions, decisions, responsibilities and worry. Good care isn’t just about support visits or routines; it’s about reassurance, guidance and helping families feel steadier again.

At Braeburn Care, we see care as a partnership. One that eases the emotional load, reduces decision fatigue and restores balance so families can be just that - families - not carers on constant alert.
