Last night, our team had the pleasure of attending the Awards - an evening dedicated to celebrating businesses, leadership and community impact.

We are incredibly proud to share that Harriet Smith, CEO of Braeburn Care, was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year. This recognition reflects not only Harriet’s leadership, but the strength of the team behind Braeburn Care and the journey we’ve been on together as a business.

Last night’s Christmas networking was a brilliant evening - full of good conversation, ideas and festive spirit. Huge thank you to Victoria Sampson, Lynne Gadsden FPFS and Ashley Scriven who made it happen and gave us a space to “listen, share and benefit,” as they say. And of course Angela Ward and David Bartholomew for everything behind the scenes that certainly didn’t go unnoticed!

Yesterday, our team had the joy of volunteering at the Carers’ Christmas Party - a heart-warming celebration filled with music, creativity, laughter and connection. 🎄✨

From choir singing and festive crafts to the buffet, raffle and quiz, it was a truly uplifting event that brought carers together for a well-deserved moment of rest and recognition.

Taking time out in care isn’t always simple. Visits continue, routines matter, and our customers remain our priority - but moments to pause, connect and celebrate are so important.

This week, our care team were able to come together for a well-deserved Christmas get-together: good food, plenty of laughter and a few rounds of bowling. A rare moment to slow down, reflect on an incredible 2025 and look to an exciting year ahead.

Care work is rewarding, but it’s also demanding. We often talk about the emotional labour, the physical intensity and the deep responsibility our Care Professionals carry each day. What we talk about less is the importance of stepping back - even briefly - to acknowledge the people behind the uniforms.
