From total disaster at an open meeting on Tuesday evening where I barely scraped over 3m...to Kent champion with a new PB of 3.65m today! Bad days happen, but they just make the good ones feel even more special. Well done to my fellow medalists Luke and Roger (also masters athletes) and thanks to all the officials for a very well run and fun competition.

No filters, just spring sunshine on apple blossom. Doesn't it look fabulous? It's been a busy weekend of hosting walking tours around our orchards with cider and juice tasting. Great fun. Back to the yoga studio tomorrow morning though...

Flying home for Easter after a week in Poland. I competed in Torun, then did some sightseeing in Gdansk and ate far too many pierogi (it translates to "dumplings" but the baked ones are more like mini pasties!). Great fun was had by all and the weather was mostly glorious spring sunshine! Looking forward to rediscovering yoga tomorrow with a couple of classes...

I finally cleared 3.60m yesterday, meaning I've raised my personal best by a whopping 10cms so far this year! Me yelling at the bar to "stay up" evidently works! Still loads to improve with my technique but I'm getting there steadily...and having a lot of fun along the way!

On my walk to yoga class this morning I passed Harry, Ron and Hermione several times, spotted a couple of Alices back from Wonderland, saw the Lion and the Witch (but no wardrobe, disappointingly), and I found Wally...it must be world book day! Whoever you're dressed as and whatever you're reading today...enjoy! As you can see, I like to vary my reading material by mixing classics with modern novels and the occasional kid's book. Reading for pleasure is such a wonderful thing to do and I always make time for at least a few pages each day. New book or author recommendations are always welcome...

As well as teaching yoga, I'm also the cider maker for Yesterday was a gloriously sunny Spring day on the farm. Perfect for tasting our matured base ciders in preparation for blending and bottling the next batch of our award-winning Private Bin and Cryals Classic sparkling ciders. They'll make a delicious vintage...

Look who I met yesterday in Glasgow...the super nice and talented 800m indoor world record breaker .hodgkinson She was busy running a PB in the 400m while I was finishing up in the Masters Heptathlon. Well done to everyone who was competing over the weekend and a huge thanks to all of the officials who make these events possible.

My pole vault take off at the British Masters Indoor Championships at the weekend. Looks a lot like a high lunge or crescent in yoga! Earned me a new official personal best of 3.58m and a silver medal.

Just spotted an article about Freddy Douglas who is in Scotland's squad and hoping to make his Six Nations debut this year. It's fantastic to hear that a young professional sports person practices yoga to complement their main sport's training programme. I started yoga when I turned 40 to get my body in better condition for my athletics and it's been a great help both physically and mentally. I became a yoga teacher to spread the many benefits of yoga to other sports people, especially men, and to show that there's nothing to be embarrassed about! According to he also used to throw the shot putt. Maybe I shouid ask him for some tips as it's my worst event in the decathlon! Whatever your sport, yoga can help...
