A massive appreciation post to our team member and most importantly, great friend Ryan as he turns the page to the next chapter in his life.

Ryan has been a massive part of all of our lives in every way and we’re sad to see him go. Tears have been cried today, but happy tears.

We can’t express how integral Ryan has been to the team here at Thrive and being such an inspiration to all of us here and both colleagues and clients. He has the special trait of truly changing people’s lives, in more ways than just physical.

Ryan will be missed heavily but we’re certain he will continue to Thrive up in Manchester and live up to the name.

Ryan. You are irreplaceable and we wish you all the best. We can only thank you for everything.

Resistance training is extremely important throughout life, but specifically when we enter the later stages of our life, and more females, certainly around peri-menopause and menopause.

Females can lose 10-20% of their bone density around the menopausal years, and a further 8% every decade after.

Developing osteoporosis leaves us at great risk of falls leading to fractures, reduced strength, and generally a universal weakness throughout the body accelerating the ageing process.

Reactive approaches do work to improve bone density, but nothing beats proactivity.

Get ahead of the game, stay young, stay fit and stay strong!

Here’s another great review from Thrive legend Nick, who came to us with a frozen shoulder and unable to play tennis.

Seeing Angus gave him the start he needed to be able to step foot into the gym and start to truly manage his shoulder pain.

Not only had Nicks shoulder now been completely pain free and has returned to his beloved tennis, but he is the strongest and fittest he has ever been, as we were working on some performance markers alongside his shoulder rehab.

Nick loves the community at Thrive and has put in some sterling efforts in the monthly challenges, getting a whopping 71 press ups in 60s to nearly take the crown. (Yes that’s after shoulder pain and surgery a few month prior - phenomenal 💪)
