A shocking statistic found that children hear 18 negative statements for each positive one they receive. Just imagine if it was the other way round.

* Positive words activate calming brain networks
* They help regulate the nervous system
* Support lower stress hormone signalling
* Are associated with healthier immune gene activity
* Improve pain tolerance and resilience
* Reinforce neural pathways linked to hope and motivation
* Enhance emotional regulation and focus

Words shape emotions > emotions guide biology > supportive language supports balance

You are what you say you are. The body is always listening. Speak lovingly. Choose wisely. ❤️

Although some studies show positive effects of having it, they may be outweighed by negative
outcomes -
• In healthy subjects there was a 65% increase within 14 days of having it of non-flu acute respiratory illness.
The most common non-flu pathogens found were rhinovirus, enterovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, and coronaviruses.

* There are over 200 different viruses that produce the same symptoms as flu. This is important because the shot only targets 3 or 4 strains.

I mean every year it is the same story. The NHS is overwhelmed. There are things that can help so that it’s not so overwhelmed. Flu is opportunistic. It comes when we are down - overwhelmed, not respecting the seasons, darkness and light, over doing it, not resting enough, not eating well, slogging on when we feel run down.
Optimal vitamin D, C and zinc, herbs like Echinacea, Elderberry and Echinacea, bone broth, keeping the neck and feet warm, taking action at the first sign of a virus to prevent a foothold, can all make a dent. During the covid years all of these things could have made a difference. Low vitamin D levels were associated with higher infection rates, more severe disease, and higher mortality rates among individuals with COVID-19.
That was just one thing. Echinacea is another.
I remember my father’s mentor once told him, “the only problem with Echinacea, is not taking enough”.
In fact, eminent herbalist Kerry Bone has taken Echinacea continuously, for at least 15 years, and in all that time he has only had a handful of infections.

I’ve always found this so fascinating. I can still remember when I was sitting in my father’s kitchen and he told me the following ……
William Beaumont (November 21, 1785
- April 25, 1853) was a surgeon in the U.S. Army who became known as the “Father of Gastric Physiology” for his research on human digestion using Alexis St. Martin.
He may have been the first person to propose a link between emotions and the gut when in 1822 he observed a man with a gaping gunshot wound to the stomach.
Alexis St. Martin was an illiterate worker who was accidentally shot with a musket at close range.
Dr Beaumont experimented on St. Martin who developed a gastric fistula that never healed. The experiments lasted for 8 years. The doctor would insert his entire forefinger into the stomach and he watched what happened to his digestion.
Most of the experiments were conducted by tying a piece of food to a string and inserting it through the hole into the stomach. Every few hours, Beaumont would remove the food and observe how well it had been digested. Food and drink constantly extruded from the hole unless a compress was used.
But the amazing point to note (apart from the patient surviving with this open wound until he died at the age of 78) was how his emotions were revealed via his stomach.
The lining would turn red when angry and blanch white when he was frightened as the blood flow went elsewhere in ‘flight or fight’ mode.
Modern research shows that both long and short term stress effects the function of the gastrointestinal tract.
And when stressed we don’t metabolise or assimilate food well. Ultimately any perceived stress upsets us. It alters the gut microbiota and predisposes individuals to increased risk for enteric infections and chronic bowel conditions. But here is an amazing fact - intestinal epithelial tissue has a high cell turnover and completely renews every 5 days.
A few days of calmness, easy to digest foods (stewed apple) and healing plants like slippery elm and chamomile tea can make all the difference.
Your gut is your guide and it appears that feelings are not just felt, but seen there too.

Hans Selye is often called the “father of stress research.” Selye observed that the body shows the same general reaction to different stressors — physical, emotional, chemical, or environmental.
He defined stress as:
“The nonspecific response of the body to any demand placed upon it.”
Meaning: the body reacts in predictable ways, regardless of the source of stress.
Relax the nervous system -
💛Breathe Low + Slow
Inhale 4 seconds → exhale 6 seconds.
Long exhales tell your vagus nerve: you’re safe.
💛Get Sunlight in the Morning
5–10 minutes resets cortisol rhythm and calms anxiety.
💛Ground Your Body
Bare feet on earth, or simply lie on the floor with deep breaths.
💛Sip Something Warm
Herbal teas like chamomile, lemon balm, or tulsi help soothe the stress response. Take our L-theanine & lemon balm
💛Shake It Out (Literally)
A 30-second full-body shake discharges stored tension — animals do this naturally. Check out
💛Extend Your Exhale Before Sleep
4–7–8 breathing or slow nasal breathing helps quiet the mind.
💛 Magnesium morning and night.
💛Reduce Stimulation
Dim lights, turn down noise, and give your senses a break.
💛Place a Warm Hand on Your Heart
Slow your breath and imagine breathing into your chest — activates safety signals.
You are safe. You are peace. Just be.
