Eloise Mayall - Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist.

Eloise studied Sports and Remedial Massage at the London School of Sports Massage.

Since achieving her diploma she has been using deep tissue massage and remedial soft tissue techniques to successfully treat both chronic and acute injuries.

As a qualified pilates instructor Eloise frequently combines her knowledge of pilates with Sports Massage to support to support her treatments, encouraging long-term and long-lasting recovery as well as improved general physical and postural habits.

Stretching safely

If you exercise regularly its important that you stretch the muscles you have been using. Here are a few simple guidelines to help avoid injury

1) have a gentle warm up before you exercise to prepare the muscles and nervous system for activity . Once you have finished exercising now you need to stretch

2) stretch gently and slowly dont bounce as you could damage the muscles hold for 20 to 30 seconds repeat 2 to 3 times.

3) remember stretching should not be painful

4) If the area you are intending to stretch has been injured lately you need to ensure that the area has fully recovered before you stretch or you may be doing more harm than good . If you are not sure get advice as you may re-tear a muscle or ligament
