This week’s goes to the incredible Ivy House team, who made waves at the Tonbridge Lions Dragon Boat Race, raising an amazing £2,481.25 for Hospice in the Weald! 👏

🚣‍♂️ Not only did they all do a fantastic job fundraising, but they also rowed their way to a 4th place finish on the day...

🗨️ "It’s amazing that a place – and people – like this exist. We are so, so lucky to be able to get help from a place like this."

27-year-old Beth is receiving care and support from the Hospice. She has a wonderful relationship with her young daughter, Willow.

Together, they built a memory bear with the help of our Living Well team, which includes a recording of Willow saying, “Love you, Mummy." 🧸

Here, Beth shares her thoughts on the support she receives from our teams, showing that hospice care is not what people think.

As part of our major refurbishment programme to improve facilities, we are upgrading beds to offer patients greater flexibility and comfort. 👇

🛏️ Although the old beds are no longer suitable for use on the ward, staff are working with East Sussex based charity, the Medi Tech Trust, to ensure they can be re-used responsibly.

Richard Wilson, Operations Project Support Manager at Hospice in the Weald, said: “We are delighted to partner with the Medi Tech Trust to ensure that the old beds can be re-purposed for the benefit of others, extending their life and impact across a range of healthcare and support services.” 🤝

Our Christmas Tree Recycling collection weekend is here! 🙌

👉 If you’ve registered your tree for collection, please make sure to leave it outside in a visible spot so our amazing volunteers can find it easily.

From 10th - 12th January, our team will be out across TN1 - TN20 collecting trees and recycling them, all whilst raising vital funds to support those who need us in our local community. 🌲

😊 Thank you for registering and being part of this campaign. Every tree collected helps us provide free care for patients and families who need us most.

Help us keep hospice care going every day. 👇

Your past generosity has already helped us begin Shaping our Future, a major renovation project transforming our Hospice in Pembury.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 While this project continues, we still have an urgent need to support families across our community every day.

Families who rely on the Hospice for expert care and guidance during the most difficult times.

It costs £25,000 a day to provide this care, free of charge. 🟢

👉 If not, don't miss out - registrations for our tree collections close tonight at 11:59pm and our website will not be able to accept any requests after this date. Due to the large volume of trees being collected this year, we are also unable to accept any last minute requests after tonight.

🗨️ "It’s difficult to explain how much of a difference the Hospice made. It’s immeasurable. It was like being scooped up. We were taken out of this stressful situation and found ourselves in a place of peace and calm, without stress or strain."

Tracey's father-in-law, John, was supported by Hospice in the Weald at the end of his life. Initially, the family wanted to care for John at home, and were able to do so with the help of our Hospice Outreach team.

However, when John's health deteriorated further, the family decided that they needed more support, and John was transferred to the Hospice. 🟢

Here, Tracey shares how they all felt scooped up by that care and support, experiencing relief at an extremely difficult time.

🚨 There's just one day left to register your Christmas tree for recycling! 🌲

Make your post-Christmas clean up easier when you enlist the help of our 'elves'.

For a suggested donation of £20, our wonderful volunteers will collect your tree between 10th - 12th January and recycle it responsibly. ♻️

Every tree really does make a difference, helping us provide free-of-charge care and support to those who need it most in our community.
