Join us at our Light up a Life Remembrance service on 13th December...🕯️

The service will give those who attend a chance to celebrate and remember the lives of their loved ones, and feature:

🎶 Music from the Salvation Army and soprano Olivia Piper
📖 Readings from a family and a poem from a member of the Five Ashes team
🗣️ Words from our Chaplain and a moment of reflection
🥐 Refreshments following the service

We’re now welcoming patients at Hospice in the Weald, Five Ashes! 🎉

Here, Kerry, Head of In-Patient Care, shows you around and explains what to expect. Whether you are admitted to the Hospice or visiting a loved one, we’re here to make sure you feel supported and at home.

🟢 While our Pembury site is being refurbished as part of ‘Shaping our Future’, our transformation programme, patients will be admitted to Five Ashes for in-patient care.

We are still providing all of our services, including Living Well, which will remain at Pembury, counselling and support, which is now offered at a nearby location and outreach services in the community.

This week’s goes to Brad Mewett, who raised an incredible £1,766 for Hospice in the Weald by completing his 6th ultramarathon! 👏

When Brad's mum became unwell, Hospice in the Weald provided support for the whole family, prompting him to fundraise so that more people can receive our free care and support.

🗨️ Reflecting upon the event, Brad said: “My word, that was hard! I've done a few 50 - 65k runs before, but this was another level. I'm really pleased with the amount we managed to raise and how the day went.”

Autumn has come to our garden in Pembury, giving those who stroll through it a chance to take in the beauty of the season... 🍂

The garden, expertly looked after by our wonderful team of gardening volunteers, is now filled with crisp leaves and golden colours, providing a tranquil setting for reflection.

We're thrilled to share that Hospice in the Weald, Five Ashes, reopened today, welcoming in-patients once again! 👇

With refurbishment taking place in Pembury as part of our 'Shaping our Future' programme, patients will be admitted to our Hospice in Five Ashes during this period.

All services will remain open whilst the work is underway, giving our patients, and their loved ones, continued access to excellent care and support. 🟢

🗨️ "He decided the Hospice was where he wanted to die, and I was so happy because I knew it's a wonderful place. The Hospice will be forever in my heart. It is like a five-star hotel run by angels."

Betty's husband, Keith, received care and support at Hospice in the Weald before he died.

The pair attended Living Well together, finding comfort and friendship through various activities. 🟢

Here, Betty shares how, at the end of Keith's life, she found peace in knowing that he chose to die in our Pembury ward.

We're excited to share our Christmas Tree Recycling Campaign is back... 🌲

For a suggested donation of £20, we will collect your real Christmas tree from your doorstep and recycle it for you. No mess, no hassle and no pine needles in your car!

Every tree collected helps us continue providing free care for people living with a terminal illness and those close to them. 🟢

Plus, 10% of all donations will go to a local charity chosen by Hospice in the Weald, so your support goes even further!

A massive to Jack Akehurst at the 1709 Tattoo shop in Edenbridge, and all the tattooists who helped raise a huge £6142.00 on their charity day! 👏

💚 Jack renamed his tattoo shop 1709 after the date of birth of his sister, Jemma, who was cared for at Hospice in the Weald, and held the charity day in her memory.

Thank you all, this is a wonderful achievement, and we are grateful for your continued support! 😊
