You’re here because you like to keep up to date with health and wellness, but also know that at CENTRED we do things a little differently, with a 360 degree lens, looking at whole health rather than fixing just one issue.

However, one issue for most of the women I work with is being overweight.

This goes hand in hand with so many health issues - energy levels, aches and pains, perimenopause symptoms, pre diabetic diagnosis, high blood pressure and also cognitive and mental health are on this list.

I believe with so many changes in our midlife, personal and physiological, that we all need a safe space to really get back to the basics. So we can find balance around our health again.

I love guiding and supporting women to lose weight sensibly with nourishing meals that fuel us for our busy lives, rather than restricting foods that result in no energy and feeling flat.

I’ve been busy at CENTRED HQ building things in the background.

A founders edition of a 12 week plan is launching soon with limited spaces.

I hope you’ll be suitably pleased…

Hello šŸ‘‹šŸ¼ I’m Vicki.

Here’s 3 things about me you may not know if you’re new around here…

1: I’m 50 years young - I say young because I genuinely don’t feel age should define how we feel (ok some days I feel a bit older than others but keeping it real)

2: I’m a Nannie - after bringing up 3 boisterous boys, having a gorgeous girl to love is a real treat šŸ’• nothing wrong with boys, all fabulous but girls are special in a different way (too much testosterone around here for way too long)

3: I really love my job - for years I’ve been working in wellness and keep building my toolkit to help women navigate tricky seasons with their health. It’s a true pleasure and a joy.

My most frequently used sayings…

ā€˜Keep it really simple’ and ā€˜Go back to basics’

What is the simplest thing you want for your midlife?

What future plans are you dreaming of?

How the CENTRED pillars slot in everywhere

This simple yet perfect day spent incorporated the 3 pillars beautifully.

We had the easeful, flowing yoga moves, delicious nourishing food (Carly is a self confessed feeder) along with some lovely meditations bringing a spring mood into the gorgeous space.

Afterwards a short effort brought massive results - with a view of Lake Windermere to feed the senses before heading home.

Thank you for this day.

Let Spring do it’s springing 🌿

Although 10k is the elusive step goal, for some this is simply a ā€˜step’ too far.

At CENTRED it’s not all or nothing. We understand that not all women have the same level of fitness or ability, time or motivation. We are all different. But moving more in midlife is most definitely the goal when improving healthšŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Walking is a blooming fantastic low impact exercise, it boosts fat loss, supports bone health, increases mental clarity and is great for digestion too.

At CENTRED we help you build movement in simply, step by step. At your pace. Setting realistic targets with support.

See links in bio for membership, guides, resources and workouts for you to try.

Enjoy and ask questions anytime.

Health goals shift in midlife… and for me, it all comes back to preserving energy.

I’ve always struggled with fatigue and even in my ā€œworking nannieā€ days, some moments are still extremely tough.

Over time, I’ve built my toolkit:
šŸš¶ā€ā™€ļø Walking everyday not miles but some movement
šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø Strength training within my limitations
šŸ„— Protein + plants always win for fuel

These simple habits help me feel capable, strong and keep me more in tune with my body.

If you’re navigating midlife energy too, follow along - I share gentle ways to stay strong, nourished and consistent, without the all-or-nothing approach.

Stay CENTRED 🌿

As I was walking the dogs this evening, it occurred to me that I am completely overthinking a new course I’ve signed up to.

Overthinking is exactly what I coach my clients not to do when they are starting something new.

Small builds momentum.
Momentum builds confidence.

Not perfect.
Not polished.
Just doable…let’s go

So even the coach needs a reminder šŸ¤

Maybe you are going too big to soon, break things down

So here are some examples you can use…

You’re aiming for 10k steps → aim to increase what you already do by 1k add in a 10 minute walk āœ”ļø
You’re aiming for 2lt water per day → start by adding an extra glass when you have a cuppa āœ”ļø
Aiming to consume 30g protein in every meal → start with adding to each meal āœ”ļø

Breaking goals down to the simplest form is a good way to get started, because consistency builds from there.

So many women throw themselves into new regimes which are never going to be sustainable.

Be gentle with yourself and let me know your goals and what your starting point can be in the comments below.
