Happy Mother’s Day.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day from everyone at Strong Life Care 💐

Today we take a moment to celebrate and recognise all the wonderful mothers across our Strong Life Care community.

To the mothers who live in our homes, whose love, wisdom and life stories continue to inspire those around them…

To the mothers within our dedicated teams, who balance caring for others at work while supporting their own families…

And to the mothers among our residents’ families and the healthcare professionals we work alongside, who play such an important role in the lives of those we care for.

Motherhood is a journey of love, resilience and devotion, and today we honour every woman who has nurtured, supported and shaped the lives of others.

From all of us across our Strong Life Care homes, we wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day filled with love, reflection and peace.

It’s people.

The families, friends and volunteers who become part of daily life in our homes and who give their time simply because they care.

At Tuxford Manor, we truly believe that every day is a school day — and at , learning happens in the most heartwarming ways.

Amongst the usual fun and bustle of home life in , Carole recently took the time to teach Julie, our Senior, how to knit — and what a lovely moment it was! 🧶

With patience, humour and plenty of encouragement, Carole guided Julie through the stitches, sharing not just a skill but laughter too. It’s a wonderful reminder that learning has no age limit.

Knitting is such a valuable activity within a care home setting. It supports dexterity, strengthens concentration, and provides a calming sense of purpose. For many people living with dementia, the ability to follow a pattern and create something beautiful often remains — whether that’s cosy blankets or even delicate baby knitwear.

Moments like these capture what meaningful engagement truly looks like: sharing skills, building connections, and celebrating the joy of creating together.

✂️🎨 Busy hands, happy hearts at Tuxford Manor 💛
Life at Tuxford Manor Care Home in Tuxford is always full of creativity and imagination!

Many of our residents absolutely love arts and crafts — especially those wonderfully fiddly activities that really get the concentration flowing.

Whether it’s carefully placing tiny details, painting, sticking, threading or designing, these sessions are about so much more than just keeping busy.

They spark memories, encourage conversation and give everyone a real sense of purpose.

Our amazing Activity Coordinator, Keeley, is always coming up with new and meaningful ideas to get everyone involved. She knows that the more purposeful the activity, the more rewarding it feels — and she’s absolutely right!

There’s nothing better than seeing the pride on someone’s face when they can say, “I made this.” Creating something from start to finish is a real win-win — boosting confidence, wellbeing and bringing lots of smiles along the way.

Well done to Keeley and all of our talented residents for filling our home with colour, creativity and joy 💕

🍰 A Real Diamond at Tuxford Manor 💎

This week at Tuxford Manor Care Home, residents enjoyed another wonderful visit from Steve — one of our fantastic volunteers who has truly become part of the furniture (in the very best way!).

Steve has a brilliant rapport with our residents. There’s always laughter in the room when he’s around, especially when aprons are on and the mixing bowls come out. From carefully measuring ingredients to stirring, mixing and baking, he supports everyone to get involved — and the results are always worth the effort.

It’s not just about the cakes (although they do taste good!). It’s about the routine, the familiarity, the shared purpose and the joy of doing something together.

Volunteers like Steve are absolute diamonds. They give their time generously, build genuine relationships and make a real difference to daily life in our home.

We’re very lucky to have him — and our residents would agree. 💛

🥞✨ Pancake Day at Tuxford Manor Care Home! ✨🥞
Our residents at Tuxford Manor Care Home, Tuxford had a flipping fantastic time celebrating Pancake Day! From classic lemon & sugar to chocolate drizzle, fresh fruit and all the sweet treats in between – there was a topping for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrating national days together isn’t just important… it’s also delicious! 😋

This was an afternoon full of smiles, laughter and a little extra sweetness – that make life at Tuxford Manor so special. 💛

🌍✨ Celebrating Culture, Faith & Community at Tuxford Manor ✨🌍

At Tuxford Manor Care Home, we believe that home should reflect the people who live and work there — and that means recognising and celebrating the many different religious festivals and cultural traditions that make up our community.

With residents and team members from a variety of backgrounds, taking time to acknowledge different faith celebrations isn’t just important — it’s meaningful, inclusive and, quite honestly, a lot of fun too.

From learning about traditions and sharing stories to enjoying themed food, decorations and music, these moments open up conversations. Residents talk about their own memories and beliefs, staff share experiences from their home countries, and everyone learns something new.

It’s about respect.

💛 Gentle, Positive Dementia Care at Tuxford Manor 💛

At Tuxford Manor Care Home, we’re always thinking about the little things that can make a big difference — especially for residents living with dementia.

This week, some of our residents spent time enjoying doll therapy. The room became beautifully calm as they cuddled, rocked and gently cared for the dolls. There was a real sense of comfort and focus — quiet moments that meant so much.

Doll therapy isn’t about play. It’s a therapeutic approach designed to encourage emotional connection, reduce anxiety and bring a sense of purpose. For many people living with dementia, nurturing behaviours feel natural and reassuring. It can also help with movement, coordination and relaxation.

Most importantly, it creates moments of warmth and dignity.

At Tuxford Manor, we believe positive dementia care is about understanding the individual — what brings comfort, what sparks connection, and what helps someone feel safe and valued.

🍰👩‍🍳 Baking fun and familiar faces at Tuxford Manor 👨‍🍳🍰

This week at Tuxford Manor Care Home, residents enjoyed another wonderful baking session — made even more special by the return of a very familiar face.

Steve, a family member of one of our residents, kindly volunteers his time and bakes with the residents twice a month — and it’s fair to say he’s become a firm favourite! From mixing and measuring to chatting and laughing together, these sessions always bring so much joy.

The residents love the routine, the friendly conversation and, of course, the tasty results at the end 😋 Having a regular face makes such a difference, helping everyone feel relaxed, involved and confident.

Volunteers like Steve are a hugely valued part of life at Tuxford Manor. Their time, kindness and commitment mean more than they know — and we are so grateful for the warmth and connection they bring into our home 💛
