Have you checked your First Aid kit recently? Do you know that dressings and plasters have use by dates? One local charity I worked with recently have done a full check since our training session and contacted me to see if I could use their OOD bits and pieces for my training. Indeed I can, what a haul! Btw, the oldest use by date was 2011.

I'm really pleased to say that I was told just before Christmas that I am to receive an award from the Metropolitan Police for helping at an incident early last year where I attended a School where a pupil was in cardiac arrest. I had a 'GoodSam' alert on my phone and was the first medic to arrive on scene. Thankfully, in this case we had a good outcome. I get to go to an award ceremony next month to get a BCU Commander's Award and an award fro the Royal Humane Society.

The GoodSam app is a great innovation that gets trained individuals on scene quickly for incidents like this where time is critical.
