And it’s a wrap! Over 2000kms covered on roads that no one else was on. Remote mountains, ancient villages, great food and company.

We completed our little jaunt in Bilbao, sampled some pinchos, got us some culture and set sail for bilghty.

It’s going to be a struggle to settle myself back into home routine!

Churches, we’ve seen a few! Porto, Salamanca, and Covadonga being the stand out places.

Religious relics, gold leaf saturated altars, weeping Mary’s, and naughty gargoyles.

In Salamanca, Spain, the city is built on religion and education dating back 2700 years. I was beguiled by the ancient writing on the walls on the churches and various university buildings. Historically when you graduated you wrote your name and cypher on the wall in ox blood. It really touched me that I was seeing layers and layers of past achievements proudly declared for all to see for eternity.

Then there are the storks. Let me tell you that on almost all church towels you will see a nest and parents tending their young. Tradition tells that the storks will protect the building from fire and robbers, as well as caretaking children’s souls. You can see why locals welcome a huge great nest or two, or three.

Thank you Porto you were lovely. The home of culinary delights, gold adorned churches, and tiled buildings (because it’s so damp here, buildings are tiled to prevent mould). And the odd pet pillion pigeon of course!

Abdominal Therapy (Part one) Certification done. What an amazing weekend and experience. Truly blessed to have as my tutor felt so safe, homely and just a genuinely nice person to be in her presence for weekend was a gift. Thanks to for all your information on the Friday just a sweet kind woman with a whole host of knowledge and hope I can become as knowledgeable as you. To my fellow practitioner .dranidi.yoga what a sweet soul beautiful light this woman is truly blessed and it worked out perfectly us both being on the course at same time best of luck I know you’ll do amazing things wherever you end up be it Cornwall or elsewhere. Looking forward to bringing this into my therapy room as it’s a beautiful treatment to do and receive. In fact did my first one today my client thought it really helped with their digestion and abdominal aches/pains and diaphragm felt a lot looser afterwards. ❤️🙌

Your Abdominal Massage
Your Abdominal Massage (YAM) can become a wonderful tool for both you and your client. Daily YAM allows your client to: Ground themselves in present time.
Allows for direct soothing of their nervous system with their warm, loving hands.
Allows for an opportunity to learn how to touch their body with warm, loving hands if that was not possible in the past.

As a therapist YAM offers space and time for compassion for yourself.

Some daily questions you may like to ask yourself as you YAM:
Do you find yourself resisting self-care?
Do you feel safe while massaging yourself?
How do you feel when you stroke your own belly?
Observe your massage strokes; are they gentle, deep, fast, or slow?
Are you in your body as you perform YAM?
Do you ever sing or chant or meditate first?

The Menstrual Cycle
For many, the menstrual cycle is fraught with symptoms - painful cramps, headaches, nausea, dizziness, water retention, constipation or diarrhea, backaches, to name just a few. These symptoms are not normal and are considered by many a sign that the uterus is crying out for help. A normal me**es described above is unfortunately not as common as it should be, and many suffer needlessly thinking their symptoms are just a part of menstruation. Learning more about the menstrual cycle, what imbalances may be present, addressing the root cause of many symptoms, and how to treat the uterus with the respect, love, and tenderness it richly deserves is an important part of Abdominal Therapy work.

Normal me**es symptoms may include: Some mild discomfort in the first few hours of bleeding. Some mild irritability or emotional sensitivity for the duration of me**es.

Some common symptoms which are not normal include:
Headaches
Water retention
Nausea
Back ache

If the saying goes “It takes a village to bring up a child”, I can say that “it takes a 22kg suitcase of classroom stuff to teach Abdominal Therapy”.

I love bringing different methods of teaching into the classroom to support all kinds of learners, visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, readers, and writers.

Here we are dressing up as a uterus with our supportive friends holding us up like the ligaments go in the pelvis. This is what kinaesthetic learning looks like.

The uterus is held in place deep within the pelvic by a hammock of numerous ligaments. We learn about how this ligaments are vital in supporting an optimally functioning uterus.
