Matters For Health

Matters For Health Sarah's aim is to help improve people’s lives through an approach to nutritional and lifestyle adv However Nutritional Therapy is not simply about ‘food’.

Nutritional Therapy is the science of how food and nutrients can promote optimum health and peak performance. Today the volume of scientific evidence supporting the importance of diet and nutrition in the prevention and treatment of disease is growing rapidly. Grounded in recognized science and evidence based research, it examines how our health can be affected by not only what we eat but also by

our lifestyle, genetics, environmental toxins and stressors. Sarah trained from the Functional Medicine approach to nutrition which is based on the understanding that all the ‘systems’ of the body are inter-related. This includes the digestive, hormonal, detoxification, energy and immune systems, each one impacting the other. When it comes to health and disease, understanding these complex connections in the body is the key to positive results. Sarah aims to identify, through a detailed first consultation with you, events in your life that might have contributed to a state of ill health or just feeling below par. Based on all these factors, she focuses on putting in measures to balance and establish optimum health for you. Sometimes clinical testing can help provide targeted results. Sarah has worked successfully with many clients suffering various health concerns such as weight concerns, adrenal fatigue, skin concerns, auto-immune conditions, digestive concerns, children's health, recovering cancer patients, sports nutrition to name but a few. Sarah works at two clinics one based in Twickenham, Farnham, and Morzine (France). She can also carry out Skype sessions with clients. Refer to www.mattersforhealth.co.uk for more information.

Did you know that your oral microbiome (good bacteria) is the first line of defence against (nasty) bacterias and contributes not only to oral health, but also systemic disease and health?. Research shows bacterial issues in the mouth have been linked to Heart disease, Diabetes, UTIs, Fertility issues & even Alzheimer’s (yikes). Seeing your hygienist and flossing regularly can help. However a quick oral swab test will outline what’s going on in your mouth!
Our oral microbiome tests detects bacteria and fungi present in the oral microbiome. An inexpensive way to keep on top of your health, especially if you are struggling with UTIs, or FERTILITY or MISCARRIAGE for example. It is a tick in the box to check on this area and gauge whether it’s a contributing factor or not. Get in touch or head to our website to learn more 🤩

Easy cooking ! This is the Indonesian Rendang… 3 simple steps. 10 mins! Choose some healthy ingredients for example Pak Choi, broccoli, tomatoes, onion, garlic, spinach, chickpeas and throw it in. I’ve added in rice noodles to cook on the side. Really yummy and warming this time of year.

‘Nature can return quickly if given the chance’ Sir David Attenborough.
We all have to play our part. Not just us here in the UK but Worldwide & we need the message to spread. Moving and worth watching The Earthshot Prize on BBC. It inspired me to post a message 😊 🌎 ♻️

Healthy lunch, does it have to be complicated? Absolutely not! Good fats from this M&S smoked salmon plus loving their red cabbage & veg coleslaw mix with a pickled hit. Cucumber, rocket, spring onion and slice of sourdough (optional for gluten free) for a bit of carb fuel. I have used my local Roost’s GF Sourdough bread. I’ve used M&S garlic salt too.

As a doctor, I take care of humans. Humans of all colors, all nations, sizes, shapes, ages, beliefs, religions and political persuasions – red, blue, purple.

And this I know after 30 years: we are all humans first, we all want peace, love, happiness, and goodness for those we love and our communities. How we imagine getting there may be different, but what unites us is far more than what divides us.  We are all Americans.

This is a time for healing. For coming together to solve the big problems we face. To listen to each other, to honor each other, respect each other, even as we may disagree on how to solve our problems.

We can choose fear or love. I choose love. I invite all of us to choose love. We don’t all have to agree, and we won’t.

But remember we all are born, love, live and die and life is too precious to fight with each other. Disagree yes. See different ways to make the world a better place, yes. But not to hate, vilify, or close our hearts to each other.

I know many may not have voted for Biden, but I know he cares about health, healing and understands Functional Medicine and we now have a real chance to heal our sick nation.

I believe we can take a stand for health and for healing of humanity and the planet.  I am in.

Are you?
