Training frequency with GymCats:
1 PT session/week

Why do you train?
As a long-time rock climber, I’ve always had reasonable upper body strength but not living very close to any outdoor climbing means I don’t get to climb as often as I used to! I also don’t get enough exercise in my daily life & I felt my strength & and particularly my flexibility could be improved. I split my efforts between strength & conditioning, stretching for increased flexibility & finish the session with relaxing breathwork.

What’s your favourite movement? Overhead press

How does training make you feel?
I look forward to my weekly session & try to give it 100% effort. I always feel energised after working out, but I do get some muscular tiredness the following day or two. I’m not particularly goal oriented but have seen good strength gains since I started. Stretching is always hard work for me & it’s difficult to quantify improvements.

You finish with breathwork - how does this make you feel?
I find the experience to be very calming & relaxing sometimes to the point I catch myself almost dropping off. I do find I have to concentrate & listen to your voice, especially later in the session to avoid that happening! I think it’s a great compliment to the physical conditioning leaving me calmer & de-stressed.

Would you recommend training to a friend? Yes of course!

Why do you train?
I can't help getting older, I won't be 60 again,but I would like to stay active. For many years I thought I could achieve that by exercising at home but, despite the convenience, too often I'd come up with an excuse not to do it. The balance of strength, cardio-vascular & mobility exercises in the GymCats' classes suit me perfectly & the support & encouragement is a bonus.

What’s your favourite movement?
The plank

How does training make you feel? Mellow. However I feel when I arrive for training, I always feel better afterwards. It's not just the exercise, there's usually something shared during a session that makes me laugh or smile. There's a great atmosphere in the classes, it always feels positive & time never drags. I forget everything else & get stuck in & afterwards I always feel its time well spent.

You have increased from 2 to 4 sessions/week since starting in January - what have you found?
It made a big difference moving from 2 sessions/week to 3 & then to 4. I've noticed improvements in strength & particularly in my aerobic condition; I definitely feel I recover more quickly now. I think that if I'd jumped in to doing 4 classes/week from the start, it wouldn't have worked so well. I think I was more of a couch potato than I'd like to admit. Starting with 2 sessions/week & then building on that was the right approach for me. I've been injury-free all year & I really like that!

Would you recommend training to a friend?
Yes. It's so much more than just pushing weights & getting a sweat on. Training with GymCats has introduced me to Animal Flow, guided breathing, ice baths, shakti mats, fasting & Tiger Bites! I feel as though I've spent years exercising just for the sake of it & now it's working for me; I'm 11kg lighter than I was at the start of 2023, which means I weigh less than I than did 10 yrs ago. I'm enjoying more activity now than I have done in years; I used to feel tired by mid-afternoon & I'd spend the rest of the day in a chair. Not any more. I would recommend training with GymCats to anybody.

Why do you train?
I love my garden but to keep up with the vegetable patches and plants, I need to keep myself strong and mobile. Training allows me to water, feed and nurture my plants to their best potential!

What’s your favourite movement?
Anything except a burpee

How does training make you feel?
Amazing. I feel mentally and physically strong after a training session with GymCats and ready to take on the world again! And water the plants.

Would you recommend training to a friend?
Everyday. GymCats are excellent at providing training to suit the individual, however you’re feeling on the day and ensure you get the best from the session, leaving motivated and happy.

Having worked with Anna for the last 5-6 years I have seen so much change and growth, but ultimately this shows that consistency gets you the results - it’s always a great session with Anna and I look forward to many more 😀

The  family is growing at GymCats and we love it 🤗 wasn’t able to run myself with the crew but they went out and smashed...

Why do you train?
I started training because I wanted to work on my technique, get strong and push myself but now at 32 weeks pregnant it’s mainly for my mental sanity!

What’s your favourite movement?
Deadlifts or squats

How does training make you feel?
It is definitely the best stress relief! Leaves me feeling exhausted but for the right reasons, I always sleep so well after training when I’m physically tired.

Would you recommend training to a friend?
Definitely! Charlotte has been so great at tailoring sessions through times when I’ve been at my peak fitness, times when I’ve had injuries and most recently throughout my pregnancy - I’m so grateful to have been able to keep moving throughout and would 100% recommend!

Our 🤩 it has been so much fun training Jess - always pushing herself to her full potential 👏 and has been amazing witnessing her journey through pregnancy 💛
