WELCOME TO THE TEAM NIAMH!!

Niamh qualified as a Physiotherapist from Teesside University in 2015 with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy. She started her physio career in the Newcastle Hospitals and completed her core rotations before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2019.

Niamh has gained a wide variety of experience in treating sport related injuries and post operative rehabilitation through her years of working within the NHS and private sector.

Niamh has continued to develop her physiotherapy skills and has attended MSK CPD events on foot and hip related injuries and has recently completed an acupuncture course in 2024. Niamh is passionate about sports and is a member of the Newcastle Gaelic Football Team.

Niamh is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Tom will use his skills and expertise to help support the NUFC women’s U21 team to hopefully another successful season

But don’t worry, Tom isn’t going anywhere and is still here to help guide, diagnose and motivate all of our lovely clients

We’re privileged to be able to utilise Jonny’s expertise to help benefit all of our clients in the Newcastle and North Shields region

“Hello, my name is Jonny and I am the new physiotherapist on the block at Activate Physio!

I work as a premiership Rugby Physiotherapist and have moved up from Exeter working with Exeter Chiefs and now with the Newcastle Falcons.

I am originally from Gloucestershire so please excuse the farmer accent.

I decided to become a Physiotherapist when I severely injured myself 6 years ago and worked with multiple practitioners who inspired me with the knowledge they held and how admirable this job seemed. It has exceeded my expectations as I love being there to help and assist in all sorts of injuries and conditions every step of the way. It’s one of the most rewarding jobs as I fully understand how frustrating and upsetting injuries can be for people, whether you’re a keen sportsperson or simply wanting to continue with daily living.

To be able to resolve and improve people’s lives and capabilities is what motivates me most. I’m full of energy and enjoy meeting everyone and anyone, so whatever your needs come book in with me and I’ll cater to your needs and wants!”

Good physiotherapy isn’t just about giving people advice once they’re injured, it’s about encouraging good behavioural and lifestyle habits to reduce the chance of injury in the first instance

Strength training in any form is incredibly important for people of all ages and will help with keeping the population healthy, fit and active

At Activate Physio, we feel incredibly passionate about trying to make exercise accessible for all and to try reduce people’s anxiety about certain training methods

We commonly hear people say that they’re a little scared or intimidated to venture into the weight section of a gym

That they aren’t confident in what they’re doing there and don’t want to make a fool of themselves

I’m here to say that’s completely normal

Like everything in life, there is a learning process needed to understand how best to use the various equipment within the weight section

But hopefully this can help you on your way…

If you are unsure, just ask someone

From my experience, gym folk are more than happy to help each other out

This followed the incredible 2020 season of Chrissy as he returned from injury and battled to compete for the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 title

This film features our very own SJ as he supported Chrissy through a gruelling season
