Ever wondered what’s beyond the curtains at the crematorium?

Why not come along for a relaxed and informative visit to Aberystwyth Cemetery, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens and see for yourself.

Take a gentle tour of the beautiful grounds, meet the fantastic and caring staff who support families every day, and have the opportunity to chat with local funeral directors, celebrants, and ministers.

It’s also a chance to learn more about how this lovely crematorium gives back to the community and supports people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

No pressure, no appointments, just a warm welcome and an opportunity to understand more.

Seven years ago this month, a journey began that I will always be incredibly proud of.

When Aftercare first started in 2019, there was uncertainty about how we would be received within the community. But what was never in doubt was our commitment to care, compassion, and going above and beyond for every family we serve.

Our very first funeral took place in Barmouth seven years ago, a moment that will stay with me forever. I will always be deeply grateful to the families who, despite not knowing me, placed their trust in me to carry out such an important role.

Since then, we’ve grown in ways we could never have imagined, now with offices in Tywyn, Dolgellau, and Barmouth.

But one thing has never changed.

We have always believed in keeping things personal. When you call us, more often than not it will be me on the other end of the phone, and together with my team we will guide and support you every step of the way.

While the appearance of our offices in Dolgellau and Barmouth may not have changed since the previous funeral directors retired, we are very much present and proud to be part of these high street communities.

Seven years on, our purpose remains the same: to care for families with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us along the way. 🩶

Diolch,
Ben

🌸 Mother’s Day can bring many emotions. For some it is a day of celebration and gratitude, while for others it can be a quiet reminder of a mother who is deeply missed.

Today, we are thinking especially of those whose mothers are no longer with them, and of anyone who may find this day difficult for their own personal reasons. Please remember you are not alone, our thoughts and support are with you.

03/03/2026

As funeral directors, we understand that talking about funeral wishes can be one of the most difficult conversations families face. Many people never have that conversation, even though it is one of the most important discussions we can have with those we love.

We have created this booklet to give individuals the opportunity to record their own funeral wishes in their own time and in their own way.

For some, it may help start a conversation with family. For others, it offers a private way to put wishes down on paper without having to discuss them face to face.

Whether completed independently or shared with loved ones, this booklet is designed to give clarity, comfort and reassurance, ensuring that personal wishes are known and respected.

Planning ahead is not about dwelling on the end of life; it is about easing the burden on those we care about most.

Copies of the booklet can be collected from us or, if preferred, we are happy to post one out to you.
