The importance of weight training and doing 'things' by ourselves: shopping, carrying bags pushing the trolley, gardening will simple strengthen the muscles and encourage bone remodelling thus preventing osteopenia and osteophorosis.

And if we add on structured exercises like Pilates/ less abled bodies - chair- Pilates, weight lifting under instructor's supervision - you will most likely become like Jean, a remarkable older fit lady!

Ah, and let's not forget your Feet! Regular exercises will encourage tiny receptors in your feet responsible for Balance/ Proprioception to stay alert and prevent those hips from breaking!

🦋 Thyroid Awareness Month (UK) | Foot Health Matters 👣

January is Thyroid Awareness Month, and many people don’t realise that thyroid conditions can affect foot health too.

An underactive thyroid can reduce sweat production, leading to anhydrotic (very dry) skin, thickened heels and painful fissures (cracks). These cracks can become sore, split and even bleed if left untreated.
