We are recruiting! We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and fun people to join our activities and care team at our day centres and community cafes in and around Uckfield.

Two roles are available - one for 24 hours per week and then a sessional role to cover holidays and busy periods. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in a care setting or work around college term times.

We are particularly keen to offer opportunities to those who have been young or young adult carers as part of our commitment to learning from the Carers Trust Young Carers Futures initiative.

Today is Young Carers Action Day.

Many children and young people help to look after a loved one due to illness, disability or a health condition. This can have an impact on their own health, wellbeing and plans for the future.

Young carers in East Sussex can get support and activities from Care for the Carers and Imago Young People Support. They are very welcome at our Victoria Pavilion Arts young people's sessions.

Today Carers Trust are asking for fair futures for young carers. We know that young carers, and young adult carers, have accumulated so many valuable skills in their caring role, and an understanding often beyond their years.

Here at Sussex Support Service, we would love to offer opportunities to young carers and young adult carers who are interested in developing a career in care, or in the not for profit sector. We can offer work experience placements, volunteering opportunities and encourage carers to apply for jobs here, as we know the value they bring. We would particularly welcome applications from young adult carers for our Bank Activity Assistant which is currently on our website.

If you are a self starter with bundles of energy we can't wait to meet you!

Our team are looking for someone to come in and cover holidays and support our attendees to enjoy their time at our Respite Day Services.
The services run Monday, Wednesday, Friday in Uckfield and Thursdays in Cross in Hand.
5hrs 15 per day 10:30 to 4:15 with a 30 minute break, 2 course lunch availble.

A huge thank you to Uckfield Bonfire & Carnival Society for all their hard work and for all the community who put money in the collection tubs during Bonfire weekend in Uckfield. It means grassroots local organisations like ourselves receive donations to support what we do for our community. Thanks again for a great evening and our donation.

We are now running two café's on Tuesday!
