There is a rally at 12 o c'lock today at Uckfield Leisure Centre regarding the potential closure of the centre. If you have any spare time this afternoon, pop by and show your support!

6 primary schools utilise the pool to teach children (who may not be otherwise able to afford it) to swim. The pool facility is regularly used by so many members of the public. ESCC are suggesting that a new facility in Hellingly will replace it, however, this is not local, convenient, or environmentally friendly option to drive 12 miles instead of walk to the current centre! Uckfield seems to be ever growing with all the new developments popping up, it is imperative that facilities like the leisure centre remain!

Below is a link to the ESCC consultation. It is crucial that as many people as possible give their views so that ESCC can appreciate the devastation it would cause the town.

To our lovely patients visiting us in our Uckfield clinic today: The car park is likely to be busy with the rally and so you may want to arrive a little early for your appointment!

Meet the Team

Callum Gaterell
Registered Osteopath 8700

Callum combines a structural and functional approach to his treatments. His broad approach allows him to successfully treat patients of all ages, from infancy to pensionable age.

As an enthusiastic sportsman, Callum understands the frustration that an injury can cause. He has many years of treating athletes at the pitch side and uses an array of techniques alongside osteopathy such as laser therapy and therapeutic taping. These, combined with a keen eye for identifying compensatory mechanisms preventing an injury from healing, mean Callum's treatment aids recovery from injury and helps prevents future problems.

Outside of osteopathy, Callum loves: Hiking, podcasts, meddling in the kitchen and any event with good food, music and company!

Blue Monday. The third Monday in January. Supposedly the gloomiest day of the year?

The days are still short and dark, the weather is bad, motivation may be low, New Year's resolutions may or may not have been broken!?

Rather than highlighting all these reasons to feel glum, why not use this day to inspire motivation and try to make ourselves feel better!?

Move your body, drink plenty of water, book yourself a holiday, read a book, eat great food, practice journalling and mindfulness, phone a friend, get out in nature (with a raincoat!). There are so many things we can do to lift our spirits.

We hope your Monday has not been too blue! And even if it has, here's to a positive rest of the week!

We are pleased to let our patients know that as registered Allied Healthcare Professionals Osteopaths can continue to work throughout the second lockdown. This is in line with advice from the government’s department of health and our professional regulatory body (GOsC).

You can be rest assured that our PPE and clinical sanitation procedures are as thorough as they ever have been.

Due to the leisure centre closures, we are renting an alternative treatment room as well as having access to our normal room on a restricted basis.
Please give us a call on 01825761294 or email us on enquires@thesussexosteopaths.com with any questions or concerns, or if you would like to book an appointment.

It’s World Mental Health day today. Here at the Sussex Osteopaths we are invested in ensuring our patients mental well being is being cared for as well as their physical wellbeing. That’s why we are both undertaking a Mental Health First Aid qualification.

Here is an infografic from unum, offering some different ways to look after your mental health.

And remember, there are always people who will take the time to listen if you ever find yourself in need of an open, non-judgemental ear. 💚

So it's national walking month this month!! (we can't believe it's May already either!)
We've set ourselves the target of walking 100 miles this month, which with the help of our ginger four legged friend, should be a challenge but achievable!

After our previous post on the benefits of exercise we can't think of a reason not to set yourself a challenge to move more!!

Today was our first proper walk this month! (We have serious respect for anyone who went out for longer than necessary in that awful weather yesterday!!) and despite the mud, it was fab!
