An absolutely perfect video to show what a Sports Therapist does and how they operate. There are a lot of misconceptions about Graduate Sports Therapists in particular with some people thinking that they just perform sports massage, however this cannot be further from the truth!
A Graduate Sports Therapist has been through at least 3 years of University, completed over 200 hours of hands on placement and is trained on many injury assessment and treatment techniques.
While many therapists who have a sports massage qualification call themselves “Sports Therapists” they could have only completed an online course in sports massage with no hands on experience. Would you go to see a Physiotherapist or Chiropractor who had only performed an online course? Make sure that the therapist you are seeing is a graduate of a Sports Therapy degree and ideally is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST).
