So today was the end of an era. 15 years in The Cemetery Chapel and today we handed back the keys. Still available as normal but based from home temporarily.
Slightly sad to have said goodbye to this lovely 18th c building but we are getting older and we need to assess for a new era. Same phone numbers and email

After a problem viewing our page we seem to be up and running again.
We are having a very slow start to 2024 mainly due to the terrible weather, affecting outdoor work and visitors are staying at home in the dry. Who can blame them.
On the agenda for this year so far is the War Memorial clean at St Margaret's Buxted and renovation jobs for other councils.
Memorials affected by price increases across the board including concrete products and all sundry items like paints. Delays directly linked to the wars in the East.

We both wish you all a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy 2022.

Not much has changed over the last few months. Our industry still struggle with imports and deliveries not to mention staff shortages from Covid outbreaks.
At Derek Tourle Memorials we are back to limited access to our workshop. One step forward two back!
Thank you to everyone for your loyalty to us and your patience with your long awaited Memorials.

Perhaps 2022 will be easier as we settle into this new way of life and find new ways to cope.

Across the country it is now well known that materials are becoming hard to get. Sadly it is the same with stone. As each week passes the industry is falling behind more and more. We received a letter from our wholesalers highlighting the problems now affecting imports. Now in major backlog due to lack of ships, longer shipping times, loads being transhipped. Many shipping lines now refuse to enter UK ports and are offloaded elsewhere to be reloaded on smaller vessels.
It is a very difficult situation and we now cannot give fixed dates for Memorials to be installed. In some instances we have a stock stone here which could be suitable.
This is life and work for all of us in the UK now. It can only get better 🇬🇧
