Here at Birrell Corrance we would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to both our winter warmer appeal & toy appeal the donations have been amazing.

We will be able to help so many families and we will also be able to help the homeless with coats etc. We really do have an amazing community and it’s great to see everyone pull together to help those in need.

A Special thanks to Robert & his team at Thorniewood Community Council for the huge donation of toys & gifts for those in need

This year I have decided to join help the homeless Glasgow to raise awareness & hopefully raise some money to help with storage facilities & items for the soup kitchen. I will be sleeping on the streets of Glasgow on Saturday the 14th of December. If you could help by sponsoring a few ££’s or even just liking and sharing this post it would be greatly appreciated.

Children’s Grief awareness Day 💙

Why raise awareness for grieving kids and teens?

Many people don’t realize that it takes most children much longer to deal with their grief than we expect and that the amount of inner turmoil, invisible to most, is much more intense than we have any idea of. We need to raise awareness so that people will realize that even if there is no outward sign of inner turmoil, those storms can still be raging inside a grieving child’s heart.

I’m asking all of you to take a moment and reach out & love on a child you know who is dealing with the loss of a loved one. The Holidays are approaching and can trigger so much grief. So many children are affected by this. Children’s grief doesn’t always receive the acknowledgment it should. Let these kids know that we are here for them. 🦋💙🦋

Thinking that Christmas is right around the corner and some kids could be waking up with very little or nothing at all isn’t a nice feeling, here at Birrell Corrance Funeral Directors we think that all children deserve to wake up to toys on Christmas day.

If this is something you think you could help with, please drop any items off between the hours of 08:30am & 4:30pm.

Make a difference this winter
Brrrrrr! ❄️❄️ Waking up this morning in my house and feeling that the temperature has dropped, made me think of all those people who don’t have homes or people who aren’t able to get items to keep them warm this winter. ☹ we want to help and make a difference to someone this winter.
Do you have any unwanted winter warm clothes that could be rehomed to someone in need. We are collecting items such as:
• Cosy Socks
• Hats, scarves, gloves
• Coats, Jackets
• Fleece’s
• Winter boots

I remember bits and pieces of that version of myself—the way I laughed without hesitation, the sense of safety that came with knowing you were there, the warmth in my chest whenever I considered that you were mine and I was yours.

That version of me is gone now, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get back to them. I miss that person almost as much as I miss you sometimes.

I really lost two people: you and myself. I can still feel the echoes of who I was, but they're faint and out of reach, like I'm watching someone else live a life I used to know. I catch glimpses of that person, but they disappear before I can grab hold. Is that version of me gone for good?

Yes, yes, I think it is. I will have to figure out who I am now without you.

Grief changed me. There's no going back to who was before. That's one of the hardest things to accept—that even if I could, somehow, adjust to this life without you, I'll never be the same. And some days, that loss of self feels just as heavy as losing you.
