🔔Reminder: ANPR Parking System Goes Live Today🚗

We’re resharing the below post as the new ANPR parking system at Ulverston Health Centre goes live today (20th April 2026).

If you’re visiting the site, please make sure you register your vehicle at one of the kiosks during your visit. This helps ensure a smooth experience for everyone using the car park.

We know there were a number of questions and comments on our previous post, so we’ve included some further clarification below 👇

⏳There will be a 20-minute grace period to allow for patient drop-offs and prescription drop-offs

🚕We have attempted to contact all taxi companies to make them aware of the changes

🏥The car park at Ulverston Health Centre is only for use for the services inside the building. This does not include the nearby pharmacy.

📞The car park is managed by NPC National Parking Control. Their contact information is available on the signs around the car park. The car park is not owned or managed by Ulverston Medical Practice.

Today and throughout the weekend, we are proud to be hosting Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) at our practice for a heart screening event for young people.
This important initiative has been organised by Lesley Mease and Donna Parker in memory of Wilson Shepherd and Vicky Parker.

Thanks to this incredible effort, the event is fully booked and we are expecting approximately 200 young people to be screened over the weekend.

CRY is a national charity dedicated to preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening, and research. Many heart condition show no symptoms, so opportunities like this can be life-saving.

We would like to thank everyone involved in organising and supporting this event, as well as all the young people and families taking part this weekend.

🚗 NEW ANPR Parking System – Ulverston Health Centre – Go Live: 20th April 2026 🏥

UMP patients, here is some information about the new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system being introduced at our Ulverston Health Centre site.

Here are the details:

🅿️ Parking time limit: 2 hours
📆 Operating schedule: Live 7 days a week
💰 parking will still be free of charge

📍 Kiosk locations inside the building:
• 2 free standing kiosks on the ground floor
• 1 free standing kiosk on the first floor

🧾 Patients attending medical appointments can log their vehicle registration number at any kiosk, regardless of which service they are using in the building.

📢 There will be plenty of signage throughout the site to help patients find the kiosks easily and avoid queues.

🚑 Emergency service vehicles will be excluded.

🗣️ Any ticket appeals will be managed directly by the ANPR company. Their contact details will be displayed on signage around the car park.

This car park is not owned by Ulverston Medical Practice.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this new system is introduced.

The network failure has now been resolved and we are back operating as normal.

⚠️ Temporary Service Disruption – Ulverston Health Centre

We are currently experiencing a network failure following an issue over the weekend, which is affecting access to our computer systems.

Our telephone lines remain operational; however, we kindly ask that you only call the practice for urgent matters at this time.

If you have a pre-booked appointment, please attend as planned unless you are contacted directly by the practice.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Kidney Cancer UK provides vital support and carries out important work for those affected by this disease. Any donations, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated.

Ulverston Community Health Centre car park, and surrounding area is extremely icy today. This has been reported to NHS property services, who manage the building.

Patients are advised to take extra care when arriving, wear suitable footwear and allow additional time for safe access to the building.

If your medication is due to run out around the above dates, please order by Monday 15th December 2025.
We process requests within 48 hrs, but your pharmacy may also have their own processing time during this busy period.
If your medication is due after 5th January please order as normal.

Update for Patients Using the myGP App

We’re aware that many patients are now experiencing issues with the myGP app. This is because it has been removed from the clinical systems nationally, meaning it may no longer work as expected for booking appointments, ordering prescriptions, or viewing your records.

Please note that this change is outside of the control of GP practices, and we understand it may cause some inconvenience.

To continue managing your healthcare online, we recommend using the NHS App, which is fully supported and offers the same core services, including:
✔ Booking GP appointments
✔ Requesting repeat prescriptions
✔ Viewing your medical record
✔ Accessing NHS 111 and more

📲 The NHS App is free to download from the App Store or Google Play.
