My yoga journey first began in 2014 when I was ready to try something new and different. I first began practicing yoga at home, and as a full time mum with two young children, finding the time to do anything for myself was tricky! I would grab any opportunity I could to follow a yoga dvd or youtube video. Needless to say I became hooked, and yoga soon became a huge part of my life! I have always taken care of my physical wellbeing, trying lots of different forms of exercise, but never before have I experienced something that really affected how I felt both inside and out. Once the children were in school full time I began to venture out and experience different yoga classes. I absolutely loved practicing under the guidance of a teacher and with like minded yogis. I realised just how important having that class experience is. I felt challenged, inspired, and I knew then that this was something I wanted to learn more about. After a lot of “should I, should I not” moments, I finally found the courage to take my 200 hour Teacher Training Diploma with Yogacampus in Manchester. This was such an amazing experience, and I feel so privileged to have been able to have the opportunity to study something I love. I really do believe that yoga is for everyone. There are lots of different styles and practices of yoga out there, but the most important thing to remember is to stay mindful throughout your practice and stay connected to your breath. Breathing is such an important part of a yoga practice, as it really helps you to stay focused, as well as connecting the mind and body. Unless you are breathing, you are not doing yoga! My own practice has evolved over time. Yoga has definitely helped me to grow stronger, become more flexible, and has inspired me to live each moment more mindfully. In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing with a theme, and offer inspiration to help deepen your practice. I seek to inspire others to find their inner peace and connect with their own body and mind. My hope is that you will step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.
