Are EHCPs going to stop?

The answer is we don't know. But right now, they still exist and we encourage you to start the process as soon as possible if you were considering it.

This is what the EHC needs assessment process should look like. This is law.

LAs delay this process, preventing children from getting their needs better understood and met. There are reasons for this, BUT! You don't have to accept it.

We have highlighted here what you can do at each stage if you are let down - whether that's by deadlines being missed or if you disagree with the council's decision.
