Back to basics.. Top tips.
#5 Breath. Connect your breath to your practice. Breath is fundamentally important in yoga as it serves as the bridge between the mind and body, acting as a source of vital energy and promoting relaxation and focus. Consciously connecting with breath during yoga asanas (poses) allows for deeper physical and mental benefits, including increased awareness, stress reduction, and improved posture. 🙏

#4 Develop a home practice. Start with just 5 minutes on the mat doing a couple of your favourite poses once or twice a week. Do it on your own and away from YouTube or social media. Develop it from there. 🙏

#3 Options. And props. We are all on our own journey. Different ages, body shapes, fitness levels, experience, etc. Step in. Get to know your range of movement. Get to know your flexibility. Your abilities. Take an option if you wish. Use a prop if that makes you feel safe and makes a pose accessible for you. Grow your practice in steps and stages. (And that’s an option too!) 🙏

#2 Just do you. Yoga isn’t competitive. No one cares what you are doing or wearing So wear what you are comfortable in. Take your practice. Don’t try too hard. Learn to listen to what your body and mind need in each class. Just do you. 🙏

#1 Give yourself the best chance to enjoy your practice. Aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before the class starts. Roll out your mat and just chill. 😎
