This is Angel after clearing the sky from gulls at Ardersier port today. She is a Gyr/Saker hybrid whose flying weight was 3lbs 6.5oz (1545g) in nearly 40 mph winds. She is one powerful bird bred by Tom Scullion at Craft Falconry.

The falcon named Angel will control breeding by making gulls ‘uncomfortable’ to restrict nesting and breeding.

Well the gull nesting season has long past and we are well into the hunting season for my hunting falcons. It takes a few months to get the falcons fit enough to take wild game regularly. We’re in the swing of it now.

The next gull season won’t be long coming round again with the season beginning in March for my Gull control hawks and falcons. So if your property has an issue with nesting gulls please make contact early as there is high demand with the changes to nature scotland’s gulls licensing.
