Claire is working through the SDQ's and screening children now and over the summer holidays with a view to having everything in place for a September start, so please do get in touch if you'd like to know more, or your child could benefit.
Introducing....Claire!
Claire Burgess is a Trainee Play Therapist, using PTUK’s model of integrative holistic play and creative arts therapy. She has 25 years experience working in the field of play with children, families and children with additional needs. Following an Art and Education degree (BA Hons), Claire completed a PGCert in Education and a PGCert in Therapeutic Play before PGDip in Play Therapy which she is currently studying. She is a registered trainee with PTUK.
Claire also works as a Therapeutic Forest Practitioner, Forest School Leader and a Parent Educator for Autism Central. Recently completing CPD in AutPlay and Sensory Integration, her vision is to help children thrive and reach their full potential in their daily lives. By working with a child’s psyche, and by building a therapeutic relationship, Claire helps relieve children of their big feelings that could present as behavioural, emotional, and more complex mental health issues through the child’s language of play and without the need for words.
Claire’s toolkit includes a sandtray, clay, paint, masks, puppets, role play, dolls house, toys and music, and will be guided by your child’s interests.
Claire is currently taking referrals for play therapy to start in September 25 and January 26. Based at our Spalding Clinic.
2 places available for a package of 30 sessions of play therapy - this involves a parent meeting at the start, after the first 8 weeks and at the end. £1350. Payment plan available.
Further spaces available for shorter blocks of sessions at £40 per session. Intervention blocks have to be planned and duration will be discussed in initial parent meeting. These sessions are not available as ad hoc.
Claire is studying towards her diploma and has certain children she is able to see as part of this. We require completion of an SDQ questionnaire for Claire to score and screen children and inform whether they are suitable for this block of intervention.
