Good Care Month is an annual awareness campaign held in July that celebrates the dedicated professionals working across the care sector. The initiative highlights the vital contributions of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues who provide support and care to those in our communities.

More than just recognition, Good Care Month also aims to raise the profile of healthcare as a rewarding and essential career path, particularly at a time when recruitment and retention in the sector are national priorities.

Starting the week with some appreciation for our wonderful hospital grounds 🌿

Our inpatient rooms benefit from french doors that open out onto our hospital gardens, providing patients with a much appreciated sense of calm and tranquillity during their stay.

Staff and patients often comment having seen squirrels, foxes, owls and deer on the lawns, as they wander from the surrounding forest.

We are proud to share with you, another instalment in our new series of interviews with Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital clinicians 🎬

Our hope is that this series of short clips will enable greater sharing of information and advice for some of the most commonly experienced health concerns in our communities.

This video provides a brief insight into the red flags and common misconceptions surrounding prolapse and incontinence, presented by our expert Gynaecology and Urogynaecology Consultant, Mr Fadi Alfhaily.
Despite affecting around 1 in 7 women in the UK, many do not seek medical help for their prolapse or incontinence, which often leads to worsening of symptoms or recurrance.

We look forward to sharing more from this series and furthering our efforts to build a healthier nation.

SSRIs, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, can affect the body's ability to regulate temperature, potentially making individuals more susceptible to heat-related issues.

During periods of hot weather, people taking SSRIs may be more prone to dehydration, dizziness, headaches, heat exhaustion and heatstroke due to their impaired ability to regulate body temperature.

If you are taking an SSRI and are concerned about heat-related issues, it is crucial to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and seek shade or air conditioning when possible.
If you experience any concerning symptoms related to heat intolerance while taking SSRIs, it's important to consult with your doctor or mental health professional.
