Thanks for the invitation from Ysgol Bryn Tawe to take part in a hustings before the Senedd election next week.

It was really interesting to hear what the most important issues are for young people. They asked about the NHS, support for the Welsh language and education.

Cllr Robert Smith, Cabinet Member for Education at Swansea Council, answered the questions. I'm proud to be learning Welsh and this morning I learnt a lot from being with the pupils at Ysgol Bryn Tawe!

It was brilliant to catch up with Naoimh from The Shared Plate this week and hear more about their awesome project in West Cross, Little Chefs, Big Table.

Kids aged 9-11? Get them signed up for this free after school class where they'll learn cooking skills, meet new friends and the best bit, feed you at the end!

All using surplus food that would otherwise go to waste - cracking work 👏

Thank you to the Wallich and everyone who attended tonight's important hustings on housing and homelessness. Having worked in the third sector on housing and homelessness this was one where I'm pretty sure my passion was apparent!

More importantly, it was an opportunity to hear from experts by experience. Getting those voices heard and benefitting from their insights is absolutely paramount in creating shared solutions to shared problems. My career to date has all been around working with people who are experts by experience, amplifying their voices and co-creating policy and services - so I really appreciated the questions from people with lived experience of housing insecurity.

Welsh Labour has taken a number of steps to really move towards our ambitious goal of ending homelessness by 2034:
✅ Delivery of 20,000 additional homes for social rent in the last Senedd term
✅ Introduction of the Homelessness and Social Housing Allocations Bill, which supports people at risk of homelessness to get help earlier and aims to prevent homelessness before it even happens
✅ Commitment to ending homelessness by 2034, ending use of B&B temporary accommodation for families with children by 2030 and delivering 100,000 new homes across the next 10 years

And there's more! Read our full manifesto for all the details 👉 https://www.welshlabour.wales/manifesto-2026/

THIS. One of my main personal reasons for standing in the Senedd election is that I know first-hand the difference Welsh Labour Government decisions are making to families today. I want to ensure parents' and children's voices are heard in the Senedd as we build on what we've already done for the future.

We don't make promises we know we can't deliver.

✅ Expansion of Flying Start childcare to 2 year olds now available across every post code in Swansea
✅ Commitment to expanding funded childcare further to 9 months, which will be a game changer for parents, children and the whole family
✅ 20,000 new funded childcare places as part of that plan

This is fairness you can feel. This is the next chapter for Wales if you vote Labour on May 7th.

Today I took part in the hustings organised by Surfers Against Sewage at Langland Bay. Like so many of us I have a personal connection with our coastline - how amazing to do a hustings in the same place I got engaged! I'm so pleased that one of the first pledges announced by Welsh Labour in this election was to introduce a Clean Water Bill, marking a complete overhaul of the Welsh water system. The work to get this going has already started with our consultation on the future of water governance closing last week. We're committed to creating the regulatory environment that supports long-term investment in Welsh water infrastructure and protect the public interest.

Bottom line = less 💩, cleaner 🌊

The notice of poll (telling you who is standing for which party) is published and it's official - I'm excited to be standing for the Senedd as a Welsh Labour candidate in May!

This election is about our families' future, the opportunity to embark on a new chapter for Wales. Our manifesto offers a clear commitment to fairness you can feel, building on our record so far and always aiming high for Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The campaign is well under way, I've spoken to lots of people all over the new Gwyr Abertawe constituency - if you're one of them thank you for taking the time to speak to us!

Great to be in the ward I currently represent today, the sun even stayed out for us 🌞

Well done to all the volunteers at Bethany Community Gardens for such a wonderful community Easter Egg Hunt this morning. It is great to see so many people coming together to make the most of our shared community spaces.

Thanks to Ripples for making so many children's day with the prize of ice cream 🍦

Friends of Bethany Community Gardens have great plans to improve the space with planting getting started today and work underway to set up opportunities with local schools.
