Fully insured, certified by Equissage Europe. The muscle system which makes up 60% of the horses body weight is the main system responsible for movement. Sports Massage has the ability to increase the body's potential from 20% to 100%. Sports Massage can assist in preventing injury. A small muscle injury can

take up to 90 days to manifest in the form of change in behavior, lameness or decrease in performance. By this time a minor injury may evolve into a more serious one. Attending to a minor muscle injury can prevent future problems. A problem may be compensation from another injury. For instance, gluteal or hamstring muscles tighten, which inhibits range of movement in the hind end. As a result, the poll will tighten which affects balance and compensation for lack of range of movement from behind. For this reason, we always complete a full body sports massage in order to treat the whole horse. Sports massage is not an alternative to veterinary treatment. Veterinary approval must be sought prior to commencement of sports massage under The Veterinary Act 1966.
