Otter Farm Otter Farm is everything to do with Mark's food and garden writing, his edible garden design, as well as the nursery of edible plants and seeds.

Otter Farm was a perennial paradise of herbs, spices, fruit and vegetables: there are orchards of pecans, almonds, Szechuan pepper and local rare apple varieties, as well as a vineyard and forest garden. Having established the farm, Mark Diacono now runs the nursery that sprang from it, and is lucky enough to spend most of his time eating, growing, writing and talking about food. He has written ma

ny award-winning books, including 'A Year at Otter Farm' and 'A Taste of the Unexpected' which both won Food Book of the Year, and 'The New Kitchen Garden' which won Gardening Book of the Year. He's written four books for River Cottage and was involved in the team in the early years. Mark lectures, gives talks and demos, hosts events and show theatres across the country and internationally, and writes for numerous publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Simple Things. Mark takes the photographs on the Otter Farm website, in his books and articles, as well as being commissioned to shoot for others.

SHORTLISTED FOR THE FORTNUM & MASON FOOD AND DRINK AWARDS

I’m totally over the moon to announce that I’ve been shortlisted in the hugely prestigious Fortnum and Mason Food and Drink Awards, in the Food Writer category, for ABUNDANCE, the book I am writing live, in weekly instalments, on Substack, here

This is a huge deal - the F&Ms are really something, and for a Substack to make it into a category like this is a real moment.
