💗 The 5 Pillars of Health & the 3 Hs of Support 💗inspired by Rachel B
A softer approach to wellbeing and emotional care for women

In my work with women — through movement, massage, coaching, or postnatal care — I always return to this:

✨ When we feel safe, supported, and seen… we heal.
✨ When we truly listen to what the body and heart are asking for… we thrive.

That’s why I love the 5 Pillars of Health — five gentle foundations that help us feel whole, nourished, and more ourselves:

🌿 Movement – Joyful, conscious, restorative. Moving in ways that feel good and keep us connected.
🌿 Nutrition – Nourishment over numbers. Food that supports your energy, hormones, and healing.
🌿 Rest & Sleep – Deep rest is not lazy — it’s powerful feminine medicine.
🌿 Emotional Wellbeing – Making space for feelings. Letting emotions move through, not fester.
🌿 Connection – To self, others, and something greater. Being held in love and sisterhood.

And when you’re in a tender time — postpartum, menopause, recovery, grief, or emotional exhaustion — it’s easy to feel unsure of what you need.

That’s where this gentle check-in comes in:

💗 Do you want to be Hugged, Heard, or Helped?

🫂 Hugged – You need comfort. No fixing. Just warmth and presence.
👂 Heard – You need to speak and be truly listened to — without judgement.
🤝 Helped – You’re ready for gentle guidance or hands-on support.

As women, we give this care to others… but forget to ask for it ourselves.

✨ What do you need right now?

That’s where I come in 💛 I offer:
💆‍♀️ Massage & bodywork – scar therapy, postnatal massage, holistic touch.
🪷 Therapeutic coaching – space to be heard and seen, especially after loss or trauma.
🤸‍♀️ Movement classes – Pilates, barre & pregnancy/postnatal sessions that honour your body.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Let’s explore what supports you best, together.

✨ Monday Musings - Thought of the Week: Saying No is Strength ✨

We’re often told that a new week means we should be doing something. Getting out, making plans, being productive, saying yes.

But what if that story isn’t true for you this week?

What if your strength looks like staying in?
Resting.
Saying no thank you.
Protecting your energy like it matters – because it does.

We’re not here to perform our lives. We’re here to live them.
Softly, gently, honestly.

So if this week you need to do less, that’s not a failure.
It’s a choice. A powerful one.

✨ You are not lazy for resting.
✨ You are not rude for saying no.
✨ You are not broken for needing space.

You're wise. You're aware. You're honouring your body and your boundaries.

And that… is real feminine power.

🌸 Endometriosis: The Silent Struggle and the Power of Being Heard 🌸
By Nina Parnham, Women’s Health Therapist & Scar Specialist

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth, yet for many it remains a hidden, misunderstood condition. On average, it takes 7 to 8 years to be diagnosed – years filled with pain, fatigue, confusion, and often, dismissal.

A beautiful client of mine was told she had IBS and anxiety for 13 years before she finally received a diagnosis via private healthcare. For over a decade, her very real symptoms were brushed aside. This is the reality for too many women.

🌿 What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the womb lining grows elsewhere – often on the ovaries, bladder, bowel, or pelvic lining. Each month it behaves like womb lining: it thickens, breaks down, and bleeds – but with nowhere for the blood to go, it can cause pain, inflammation, and scarring.

Symptoms can include:

Pelvic or abdominal pain (especially during menstruation or ovulation)

Pain during s*x or bowel movements

Fatigue

Digestive issues

Heavy or irregular periods

Difficulty conceiving

And yet, many women are told it’s “just period pain” or “all in your head.”

⏳ Why Does Diagnosis Take So Long?
There’s no simple test. A laparoscopy – a form of keyhole surgery – is the only way to definitively diagnose endometriosis. But many women are sent away with painkillers, contraceptives, or antidepressants before this is even considered.

There’s also a systemic issue: women’s pain is still too often minimised or misunderstood. We’re told to push through, stay strong, or try another pill.

💊 Mainstream Treatments – and Their Limits
Many women are offered:

The pill, hormonal IUD or injections to suppress their cycle

Painkillers or antidepressants

Surgery to remove tissue

And in some cases, hysterectomy

While these may help some, they don’t always address the root cause – and they often come with side effects or emotional impact. Hormonal options aren't suitable for everyone. Surgery can bring relief, but also scar tissue. And for some, a hysterectomy doesn't stop the pain.

🌸 Holistic Support for Endometriosis – Your Healing Pathway with Me
You don’t have to wait for a diagnosis to start healing. And you don’t have to go through surgery to deserve support.

I offer a compassionate, woman-centred approach to managing endometriosis and reproductive imbalances, whether you’ve had medical interventions or not.

💫 The Temple Method: Nurturing Womb & Abdominal Massage
This powerful, yet gentle treatment works through:

🌿 Abdominal and lower back massage to ease congestion, improve circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage
🌿 Womb space connection – supporting hormonal balance, emotional release, and pelvic awareness
🌿 Castor oil packs – a beautiful home ritual to reduce inflammation and soften adhesions
🌿 Vaginal steaming (yoni steaming) – using therapeutic herbs to soothe, cleanse and reconnect
🌿 Home care guidance to empower you between sessions with rituals that support your cycle and symptoms

Even if you’ve never had surgery, these methods can help you feel more at ease, reduce pain, and reconnect with your body in a deeply supportive way.

🤍 Scar Therapy After Surgery
If you have had a laparoscopy, hysterectomy, or any other abdominal surgery, I also offer specialist scar therapy to:

✨ Reduce tightness, sensitivity or adhesions
✨ Support tissue healing and mobility
✨ Ease emotional trauma stored in the body
✨ Restore connection to your belly and womb space

You Deserve to Be Heard
If you're living with endometriosis symptoms – diagnosed or not – please know:

🌸 Your pain is real
🌸 You are not alone
🌸 There is gentle, loving support available to you

Whether you want to explore holistic massage, support post-surgery, or simply need a space to be held and understood – I’m here for you.

🌸 TMJ Disorder: More Than Just a Jaw Issue 🌸
So many women come to me after months — even years — of jaw pain, clicking, tension headaches, earaches, and tightness they’ve been told to just “manage” with a mouth guard or Botox. 😔

But these are often just sticking plasters over a deeper issue.

TMJ pain is rarely just physical. It’s so often linked to stress, emotional overload, and trauma held in the body — especially around the jaw, neck, and shoulders.

💆‍♀️ My TMJ massage therapy protocol offers more than just temporary relief — it’s about releasing what the body has been holding, with gentle hands, a listening ear, and holistic tools that support healing from the inside out.

Just listen to Sam’s words after one session:

“Honestly feels like yesterday’s session has been life changing 🤩
The relief it gave me just after one session was amazing.
I was definitely clenching in my sleep last night but it’s not been as painful as it usually is this morning.
I’m being very conscious of when my jaw starts clenching and trying to have a reset.”

This is the power of compassionate, body-based therapy. If you’re feeling the tension building in your jaw — your body’s cry for help — I’m here to support you.

✨ Relief is possible.
✨ You don’t have to push through it.
✨ Let’s work with your body, not against it.

Being a Mum to a Neurodiverse Daughter: Navigating the School System with Compassion

This isn’t an easy post to write, but it feels important.

As a mum to a daughter with ADHD, I’ve spent years learning, listening, and advocating — not just for her, but for all the children who need a different kind of support in school. And yet, along the way, I’ve often felt misunderstood. Like I’m being “difficult” or trying to fight the system, when really… I’m just trying to help my daughter thrive.

I’m not here to criticise teachers or SEN teams — I know many are doing their best in an overstretched system. But I also know what it feels like to be met with resistance when all you're asking for is compassion, flexibility, and tools that actually work for your child.

💔 It’s hard when your instincts as a mother are dismissed.
💡 It’s powerful when you learn to trust those instincts anyway.

I’ve learned so much on this journey — and I’m still learning. But I wanted to share a few thoughts in case you’re a parent navigating this too:

✨ You are not being “too much.” Advocacy is not aggression. Wanting more for your child is not a threat — it’s love in action.
✨ Build your circle. Find the teachers, mentors, and professionals who see your child and want to work with you. They exist, and they make all the difference.
✨ Keep records. Email conversations, notes from meetings, and your own observations. It can be helpful to reflect and refer back.
✨ Don’t be afraid to use your voice — but also protect your peace. Choose your battles wisely, and know that some change takes time.
✨ Celebrate your child. Their brain is wired beautifully. They are not broken. With the right support, they can thrive.

If you’re walking this road, I see you. It’s not always easy, but your voice matters — and your child deserves to be understood, not just accommodated.

Let’s keep lifting each other up. Let’s be the change — with compassion, not conflict.

✨ Postnatal Depletion is Real — and You’re Not Alone ✨

You’ve had your baby.
Time has passed.
But something still doesn’t feel right.

You’re tired — not just “new baby tired”… but bone-deep, can’t-think, emotional, stretched-too-thin kind of tired.

You feel foggy.
Your priorities have shifted.
You love your baby deeply, but wonder… where did I go?

💔 This isn’t weakness.
💔 This isn’t failing.
💛 This is postnatal depletion — and it’s more common than you think.

Symptoms might look like:
🌙 Exhaustion that never lifts
🧠 Brain fog + forgetfulness
💤 Poor sleep even when baby sleeps
💥 Mood swings, anxiety or tears
💔 Feeling disconnected from yourself
🧍‍♀️ Aches, hair loss, low libido
🤯 Mental overload

You might feel like no one told you it would be this hard.
And honestly? They didn’t.

Postnatal depletion is what happens when your body, mind, and spirit have given everything — and haven’t had the chance to replenish.

🍼 The world focuses on the baby.
But YOU need nurturing too.

What can help?
🍲 Nourishing food + key nutrients
🧘 Gentle, restorative movement
🤲 Therapeutic massage & scar therapy
💬 Space to talk and feel held
💛 Compassion, patience and support

You are not broken.
You are healing.
You deserve rest, softness, and to feel like you again.

✨ I offer support through:
🤍 Postnatal Pilates
🤍 Holistic massage & scar therapy
🤍 Therapeutic coaching
🤍 Women-only classes that feel like home

🌸 Still struggling with shoulder pain in perimenopause? 🌸

In my last post, I shared how declining oestrogen affects tendon health, posture, and the way our bodies hold tension—especially around the shoulders and neck.

So what can help? 💁‍♀️

There’s no one-size-fits-all, but here are some powerful, gentle ways to support your shoulders and reclaim ease:

💪 Strengthen your upper back + shoulders
Tendons love support! Light resistance (bands or weights) helps stabilise your joints and builds strength in key areas like the rotator cuff, rhomboids, and mid-back.

🤸‍♀️ Open your chest + spine
Desk life, childcare, and stress all lead to tight pecs and stiff upper backs. Gentle chest openers, wall angels, and thoracic stretches can work wonders.

🛁 Magnesium
A bath with Epsom salts or topical magnesium spray can help soften muscle tension and support nervous system balance—especially when sleep is tricky.

🌬️ Breathe low + slow
Shallow breathing keeps tension in the shoulders. Try soft belly breathing to calm your system and ease gripping in the upper body.

💆‍♀️ Massage + fascia release
Hands-on treatment is powerful for shifting deep holding patterns. My massage work helps ease pain, restore flow, and support postural balance.

💖 Emotional holding
Sometimes shoulder tension is emotional—we carry what we don't speak. Mind-body coaching can help explore and release what's ready to be let go.

Your body isn’t failing—it’s speaking. It just needs new ways of being supported. And you deserve that support. ✨

🌸 Shoulder Pain in Perimenopause? You're Not Alone 🌸

Are your shoulders aching more than they used to? Feeling tight, stiff, or sore in your neck, upper back or arms?

You're not imagining it, this is a very real issue for many women during perimenopause and menopause, and hormones play a huge part. ❤️

As oestrogen levels decline, your tendons (which connect muscle to bone) can become less elastic and more prone to tightness and inflammation. Tendons love oestrogen. It keeps them supple and resilient. Without enough of it, women often start to feel the strain… especially in the shoulders and neck, which hold so much of our emotional and physical tension. 😣

Add in long hours at a desk, childcare, disrupted sleep, and the emotional load of midlife and no wonder those shoulders feel like concrete!

💆‍♀️ So what can help?

✨ Massage can help release deep holding patterns in the fascia and muscle tissue, especially around the chest, back, and arms.

✨ Postural awareness and gentle strengthening (think Pilates, Barre, and functional core work) can rebalance your body and support the shoulders from below.

✨ Mind-body techniques and therapeutic coaching can help you explore what your body might be holding emotionally and learn to release, restore and reconnect. 🌿

Your body is wise. It’s not broken, it’s just asking for a new level of support and attention as you shift into this next chapter. And you absolutely deserve to feel strong, supported, and at home in yourself. 💖

If this resonates, I’d love to help you feel better in your body.

🌿 The Holistic Benefits of Scar Massage 🌿

Did you know that scar massage is about so much more than just softening the appearance of a scar?

With over 10 years’ experience in scar therapy and a background in women’s health, I work with all types of scars whether from C-section, hysterectomy, mastectomy, lumpectomy, burns, injuries, or keyhole surgery. Every scar tells a story, and every woman deserves to feel whole, comfortable, and confident in her body again.

✨ Here’s what many women notice after treatment:
✔ Improved appearance and softness of the scar
✔ Reduced tightness, numbness, or pulling sensations
✔ Less pain or sensitivity in the surrounding tissues
✔ Better movement and posture
✔ A sense of emotional release or reconnection to the area
✔ Boost in body confidence and overall wellbeing

Scar massage isn’t just a physical treatment it’s a deeply nurturing, therapeutic experience. It honours your healing journey and helps your body and mind move forward.

🌸 Why invest in scar therapy?
Because it’s never too late to care for your body. Whether your scar is 6 weeks or 20 years old, you deserve to feel free and at home in your skin. Healing doesn’t stop when the wound closessometimes, that’s when the real healing begins 💕

If you’d love to explore how scar massage could support your recovery, I’d be honoured to help.

🌿 When You’re Not Being Seen, Heard, or Validated 🌿

There are moments — perhaps more than we care to admit — when we’re met with silence, dismissal, or subtle avoidance instead of the validation we so deeply need. You might be speaking your truth, but it feels like it vanishes into thin air. You might be asking for support, but no one truly sees the depth of what you're carrying.

It hurts. And that hurt is real.
It’s not you being "too sensitive." It’s not you "overreacting."
It’s your nervous system longing for connection, and your heart longing to be held.

💔 Maybe you’ve shared the pain of a fertility struggle or miscarriage and been met with awkward silence or “just relax” advice.
💔 Maybe you’ve voiced how overwhelmed you feel in motherhood — and instead of compassion, you got told to "enjoy every moment."
💔 Maybe you’re in a relationship where your emotional needs are brushed aside.
💔 Or maybe you’re healing from trauma, surgery, or loss — and no one truly understands the weight you carry.

So what can you do when you're not being seen, heard, or validated?

✨ 1. Pause and Honour What You’re Feeling
You don’t need someone else to name your pain for it to be real. Place a gentle hand on your heart, breathe deeply, and say:
"I see you. I hear you. I believe you."
Be your own sacred witness.

✨ 2. Ask Yourself What You Need
Do you need space? Comfort? To cry? To scream into a pillow? To talk to someone safe?
Self-enquiry can be radical and healing. Don’t rush past it.

✨ 3. Set Boundaries Without Guilt
You’re allowed to walk away from people who continually dim your light or dismiss your truth. You can love them and still protect your peace.

✨ 4. Seek Spaces That Do See You
You deserve to be in rooms, circles, and relationships that honour your lived experience. Whether that’s a trusted friend, a therapist, a coach, or a women's circle — don’t settle for crumbs of compassion.

✨ 5. Remember: You Are Inherently Worthy
Your voice matters, even when it shakes.
Your feelings matter, even when others don’t understand them.
And you are never alone, even if it feels that way sometimes.

You were not born to be silent. You were born to rise, to soften, to roar, and to heal — on your own terms 💫

With love and deep seeing,
Love Nina xx

🌸 Why Every Woman Deserves Pilates - Especially If You’re Holding Back 🌸

Let’s talk honestly, lovely
So many women tell me, “I want to come to a class, but…”

✨ “I feel too unfit.”
✨ “I’ve got no core strength anymore.”
✨ “I’m nervous I won’t keep up.”
✨ “I’m too busy looking after everyone else.”
✨ “I’ve got a tummy I don’t want to show.”
✨ “I haven’t exercised in years!”

I hear you. Truly. ❤️
But these are exactly the reasons to come.

Pilates isn’t about being perfect. It’s not about having a flat tummy or touching your toes. It’s about coming home to your body. Strengthening what’s already there. Reclaiming space for YOU even if it’s just for an hour a week. 🌿

Here’s what Pilates can give you:

🌷 Core and pelvic floor strength (essential for women at all stages of life!)
🌷 Better posture and reduced aches and pains
🌷 Calm, focused breath and nervous system support
🌷 A sense of grounding and confidence
🌷 Gentle, feminine strength without the pressure
🌷 A safe, supportive space with other women 💗

You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to show up. I’ll meet you exactly where you are. No judgement. Just encouragement, joy, and progress 💫

My classes are warm, welcoming and women-only. Whether you’re postnatal, peri-menopausal, or just needing to reconnect Pilates is a gift for your body and mind.

✨ Feeling Out of Sorts? Rebalance Your Chakras with Movement & Breath ✨

Chakras are energy centres in the body, each linked to different physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our wellbeing 🌈 When these energy points are out of balance, we can feel off-centre, tired or emotionally stuck.

💫 Try this simple reset to realign:

Grounding (Root Chakra): Stand tall, soften your knees, and take 3 deep belly breaths. Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth 🌍

Flow (Sacral Chakra): Gently circle your hips or sway side to side to awaken creative, emotional flow 🧡

Power Up (Solar Plexus): Try a few rounds of breath of fire* or core movement (like Pilates) to fire up your inner strength 🔥

Heart Opening: Roll your shoulders back, open your arms wide and breathe into your chest space 💚

Voice Vibration (Throat Chakra): Hum, chant, or sigh audibly to free your voice 🎶

Stillness & Focus (Third Eye): Close your eyes, place a finger between your brows and breathe into that space 💜

Connection (Crown Chakra): Sit quietly, spine tall, and imagine light streaming into the top of your head ✨

Even 5 minutes of mindful breath and movement can help you feel lighter, more grounded and gently rebalanced 💖

Be kind to your energy, lovely. You deserve it 🌸
