I've been an Apple user since I was 16, and now, approaching 30, it’s been almost half my life. I become helpless with Android and that, but my comfort shouldn’t come at the expense of our brothers and sisters in Congo. Sometimes, for sellers to change, buyers must change first. If we all resist the urge to buy new devices as soon as they’re released, hold onto our electronics for as long as possible, repair them when they break, and buy second-hand or refurbished ones only when necessary, we can reduce the demand for cobalt and copper. This, in turn, can lessen the need for exploitative extraction. I vow to no longer buy new electronics. Who's with me?
