A New Chapter
After eight extraordinary years building and leading Family Compass side by side, Lucy and I are stepping down from our roles as joint CEOs.
Lucy will continue her vital work as a Therapeutic Social Worker until December, providing therapeutic life story work that helps children make sense of their worlds. I’ll still be championing our mission as Fundraising Lead, supporting the voluntary income that helps make much of our work possible. After Christmas, I'm planning to return to the CEO role, ready to step back in with renewed energy.
In the meantime, the wonderful Emma Nobes will be stepping up as Interim CEO. She’ll be guided and supported by our incredible management team and dedicated Board of Trustees - we are in the very best of hands.
Since we co-founded Family Compass, Lucy and I have walked every step of the journey together. We’ve shared the joy of lives changed, and the weight of hard days that come with running a charity rooted in compassion and care. But now it’s time for something we’ve long encouraged in others: space to breathe. Space to tend to our own mental health and remember what it feels like to not be constantly consumed by the work we love.
We’re deeply proud of what we’ve helped to build, but even more proud of the people - children, families, funders, community partners, our team and supporters - who’ve shaped it with us. Thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for walking this path alongside us.
With love and gratitude,
Keda & Lucy
