I have been doing a couple of little jobs this week, mostly for family but this one is for one of my regulars. she left a rusty can on her oak work top and also someone left a leaky bottle of bleach on it leaving some really bad stains. It is still work in progress, I have sanded out all the marks and it has had the first of three coats of Danish oil. I really enjoy refurbishing oak worktops 😃

Deep breath time as this is a bit scary 😳

It is time to semi retire and spend more time with Alison (the last bit isn’t scary lol she is the love of my life)

I plan to do a maximum of 2 days a week and then only small local jobs or emergencies or helping out around the village, Plus I still have a few loose ends to sort out. I have loads to do on my own house, which has been a little neglected over the last 5 years so I will still be posting my progress on here. As well as any little jobs I do

Two new doors fitted, finished and looking lovely. it was a bit of a challenge as nothing was square in this old house, but I did my bestest. I have used Black door handles as my lovely lady client has very poor eyesight and I am hoping the contrasting colours will make it easier for her to find the handles. Time will tell 😃

I couldn't wait to show you this weeks big project. A bespoke, hand made garage window with opening central light. I initially thought it might be a repair but once I had it removed from the building it was obvious it was beyond saving. You can see how bad it was from the last two pictures. I have to say I am extremely proud of how it turned out. Not too shabby for a handyman 😊😊

Todays little challenge was to replace two of the wooden stepping posts on Millstones. Mannnnn that concrete was hard to drill through, it wasn't lovely soft post mix, this was full on, rock hard Gravel and sand concrete 🥵 . I made the crosshatch grip surface on the top with my trim router, good job done in the end though 😊
