Meet Laura Benaggoune the Heart Behind Welsummer Glamping.

A Little Love Story: How Welsummer and I Came to Be
Meet Laura, the wonderful owner of Welsummer, a soulful glamping site tucked away in the Kent countryside.

This story is as much about her as it is about the land, because together, they’ve created a space where dreams quietly take root.

It all began with a daydream of my own. I was in my little pixie world, imagining outdoor retreats where people could reconnect, play, and feel held by nature. I longed for a space that felt like home—wild, beautiful, and full of possibility.

Welsummer came to me gently. I’d reached out with my vision, then waited. After a pause, a message landed in my Instagram inbox—an invitation from Laura to a networking event. I dropped everything and went. I had a feeling she was dreaming the same dream. And I was right. Our visions aligned effortlessly, and something just clicked. We planted a seed that day, and over the last three years, it’s grown into something special. I’ve hosted wild food foraging walks and forest bathing events, slept under the stars, and even completed some of my forest bathing training homework right there on the land.

Welsummer held me like a second home—natural, nurturing, and grounding.

Our retreats have evolved alongside our friendship. The land, the people, and the community have shaped them in ways I could never have scripted.

After one of our retreats, Laura and I stood barefoot in the field, tired but glowing. We filmed a short video—not rehearsed or polished—but to capture the feeling of what we had just held together. It was brief, but it said everything.

Next year, we’re dreaming even bigger—think outdoor cooking, deeper wild food foraging, and more soulful connection.
For me, I have to fall in love—with the land and the people I work with—in order to offer my best. And with Welsummer, I did. That’s why I return. That’s why it feels like home.

🌿 Building something beautiful… together.
Running your own business isn’t easy — especially when you're the planner, the teacher, the space holder… and the one editing the video afterwards!

But when you partner with the right people and create from the heart, something really special happens. That’s what happened with Welsummer. Three years ago, Laura (the amazing site owner) and I came together with a simple idea:

Let’s create the kind of retreat experience we’d want to go on ourselves.
So we said yes. And we built it.
That first time was full of nerves — for both of us.
But now, in year three, it feels joyful, natural, and deeply rooted.
Hosting retreats here, in the heart of Kent, surrounded by trees, wildness, and warmth, is something we both feel called to do.

Running Tilia Yoga & Nature is big work.
As someone with ADHD, I often feel like my brain runs on ten tabs at once — and sometimes that’s hard… but sometimes, it’s a gift.
Because it means I’m multi-skilled, creative, and able to bring together lots of parts:

🌿 Nature, yoga, forest bathing, holding space, building connections… and yes — even filming and editing beautiful videos like the one below.

If you wish to join this retreat get booked ASAP limited spaces:

If you’re looking for someone who gets the heart of your offering and can help you tell your story through video, feel free to DM me. This review video was filmed and edited by me. Before I launched Tilia, video creation was a big part of my work — and it’s still something I love doing when the right project calls.

When was the last time you sat solo with a tree — without a phone, a podcast, or even a dog?
Just you… and nature.

During a recent forest bathing session, we talked about how rare it is to truly be alone in the wild — and how freeing it feels, once you do.

But also… how hard it is to give yourself permission.
Unless it's part of a guided session, most people won’t just say,
"I’m off to sit quietly with a tree for a while."

Even though our ancestors knew the value of walking out alone — to think, to solve, to reconnect — modern life has made solo nature time feel… unusual. For women especially, safety is a big part of this. That’s why I host sessions in private, peaceful spaces where you can relax deeply, knowing you’re held and undisturbed.

There’s something beautiful about pausing together, then quietly drifting into solo space — knowing others are nearby, yet you’re free to just be.

So I’m curious…
What helps you feel freer about being alone in nature?
Do you find it easy to switch off, or does it feel awkward without a task or purpose?
