This morning the Herd showed me that they were holding space and sending waves of beautiful healing energy to Nyla ( the canine member of our family 🐕) who had a huge, unexpected operation yesterday. I realised in that moment that horses provide healing more frequently than we may ever realise, and that we are never alone on our healing journey when they are present.

In moments where stillness, presence, and silence prevail we have an opportunity to sense this gift. In these moments we also have an opportunity to observe our lives and realise where their healing energy penetrates and flows in its purpose.

When you are with the horse(s) in your life take a moment (or many) to ground, breathe, tune in and ask them to reveal in whichever way you receive their voice where their healing presence is impacting your world.

It may be in areas you do not expect, be open to that.
It may be in a part of your mind you didn’t realise was active, be open to that.
It may be in that exact moment you are with them, be open to that.

Their healing presence is in magnetic vortex of precision which is also gentleEmpowering authenticityberate.

The more we open to their magic, healing potency the more we witness where they are working their powers and what the incredible benefits are. In this way we can be advocate for them in exactly the way they deserve.

Hoof Abscesses: Before vs After Rupture

There is ongoing discussion online about how hoof abscesses should be managed, particularly after they have already drained. I’d like to clarify this, because the treatment goals change once an abscess has ruptured.

Before an abscess ruptures

When an abscess is still sealed within the hoof capsule, the goals are: to
Relieve pressure
Encourage drainage
Reduce pain

After an abscess has ruptured

Once an abscess has blown (for example via the white line, sole, frog, or collateral groove), the situation is different:

Pressure has already been relieved
The primary source of pain is gone
The abscess is no longer “trapped”

At this stage, the goals become:

Keeping the drainage tract clean

Preventing environmental contamination

Allowing the tract to heal from the inside out

Avoiding prolonged maceration of the frog and sulci

This is where ongoing wet poulticing is often overused

There is a widespread belief that pus must be “drawn out” for many days after rupture. Many comments related to this after my last post about an abscess in a mare at my livery.

This idea applies to sealed abscesses, not ones that have blown and I did some research and found :

Once drainage has occurred-

There is no longer pressure driving pus deeper

Continued soaking does not remove more infection

Prolonged wet conditions can delay healing and soften healthy tissue

I shared that I packed the sulci with hoof clay.

Soft, non-occlusive materials (including clays or charcoal-based products) used lightly after rupture are not inherently “blocking” drainage. They can:

Absorb moisture

Bind debris

Reduce contamination of an open tract

This is very different from sealing an abscess closed.

In summary I learned-

• Before rupture → encourage drainage
• After rupture → protect, keep clean, allow healing

Presence meets us where we are at, not where we think we need to be.

By choosing to connect to the presence behind all we see and experience we are opening our hearts to the ever expanding vessel of divine energy in each moment.

When we focus on the created we only see one side.
When we focus on the creator we see all the possibilities.

Horses are the beating heart of divine consciousness.
They lay bare before us all we need to reconnect with the infinite creative potential of our being.

No games. Just presence. Just love. Just wild, untamed expansion.

Everything is connected. Fact. So when a school of thought which I love has such beautiful, connective crossovers with the main aspect of my life (horse magic) I feel grateful to remember the interconnectivity of all life:

In basic terms here are a few of the main principles of Kabbalah which I feel, when practiced in our day to day moment to moment existence with horses, crossover efficiently with what the horses are already calling us into:

🦄 Instead of unconsciously reacting pause and look for the opportunity in every single challenge.
• We all have emotional triggers which can creative behavioural reactivity. Choosing to rest in the pause, listening to the potential shift in outcome which can come from responding rather than reacting then choosing to initiate that outcome…can be the difference between surface level and soul level interaction.

🦄 Believe with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that all experiences are fueled by a divine source and are for our benefit.
• Shifting our perspective to include divine capacity and belonging in every moment. In the moment and even in the depth of a challenge…KNOWING that the relationship you are in with your horse is fuelled by divine will, is destined and earned through divine compassion.

🦄 Act from an unconditionally giving place.
• To continually, consistently, committedly come from a giving place with all beings. To GIVE energy rather than TAKE energy. To GIVE love rather than TALE love. To GIVE stillness rather than TAKE chaos. When we focus on giving to our horses above all else, the outcome is that the SPACE BETWEEN us if filled with the quality of receivership. All beings receive when we drop into our hearts and give unconditionally.

Can we choose to connect to the creative source of our experiences with our horses first and foremost? A belief in God is unnecessary here. A belief is a loving force of evolution behind what you are sensing is definitely helpful!

Horses bring me back to this source within me every single time I am with them. It’s the infinite space of the pause, trusting and giving eternally for the benefit of the ALL.

Living in presence with the Herd allows me to be infinitely more aware of distractions which may creep in throughout the day when I am away from them.

Like a light flickering at a fraction of its capacity I can flow in and out of this state until I choose to fully face my divine source above all else.

Blazing this divine energy through our being is one of the reasons we came to this planet, impacting each other with our luminosity.

Returning home to the heart which carries the rhythm of our belonging.

One of the biggest strains on my heart this year has been witnessing the changes Olympia has been through. She lost a lot of weight earlier in the year and had some major dental work done which, if you've been following me for a while or listened to my Pod with you'll know how impactful dentistry is on EVERY part of the body. Back in April (after the dental work) was when she started to drop.

Olympia is one of the most stoic, responsible, and purposeful mares I have ever met. She takes her role here on earth very seriously, in such an embodied way. I wondered whether she would transition this year but she shared, right before we moved, that she has more work to do and more energy to bring through for the planet. 'More life,' she said.

Now we are living together again I have been giving her regular soft tissue treatments alongside Craniosacral. In addition and as always, she gets to decide how she takes in the healing and I am so happy to be able to observe her in that process every day.

Caring for horses is MASSIVELY multi-layered, there is never one story or one way. In fact, deep and true care is circular, intrinsically holistic, reflective, and often deeply revealing.

As the Matriarch in the Herd, and in my every day life too :-), Olympia's journey is to continue for now...and I am sure, in her direct, samurai way, she will guide all of us through the depths of what is to come.

Why I adore and advocate for Craniosacral Therapy.

First of all because it is an incredibly powerful and subtle divinely infused badass modality.

Secondly, because I love being in the Craniosacral field. I believe this particular field of healing is present at all times, waiting to reveal itself to us when we learn to place our attention and focus onto or into it.

Healing happens when we make space for it.
This means healing is ALWAYS possible, waiting for our awareness to expand enough to make space for its outcome.

Of course there are circumstances when it is time for the physical body to transition onto its next phase. However, even then, the circle and arrow of healing spins its way into life, coming into full focus right when we are ready.

Equine Craniosacral is a modality whose effect within the energy field we are in is palpable. One moment we are dancing, then we are still, then we are tentatively taking steps to choreograph to a new rhythm.

This rhythm is a backbone of the systems we inhabit physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. With Craniosacral we are ‘waiting for our mud to settle’ as Lao Tzu says.

We are making space for the Ultimate to step forward, to dance with us. Having said this, Craniosacral does infuses acute, intutive awareness with precise techniques. Techniques we need to be 100% in our deep listening and presence for. Aka..accessing the field.

During my time with the herd today they shared a few main components which will help to heal the world.

🦄 Remembering that the only ‘thing’ between you and God/ Source / Creator / Creatrix is YOU. The way is always open.

🦄 Showing up for ALL other beings without an agenda, truly. Agenda-less-ness is a nuanced yet revolutionary offering.

🦄 Listening to the voice of presence more than ANY other voice, anytime, anywhere. This is the voice of your heart, the heart in any space. Can you be brave enough to listen to your heart in a loud world?

‘You are made of living water, even your thoughts are simply bystanders to this gift.
You are made of the current which creates, of movement and reckoning.

This living water asks you to remember its feel, taste, sense, and sound.

Let the flow inside you breathe.
Nourish the creative.
Listen to the waters all around you, in each other, the vibration is stirring.’

‘This moment is the only freedom you have, it is the fulcrum of your existence.’

- Sadhguru

A classic and very horse infused reminder of one of the fundamental reasons we are here, to return to presence.

Never before have there been as many worldwide requirements for us to communicate our sense of who we are to one another to help ourselves come into the light of awareness.

Presence is the surrender into the soul which holds us, orchestrating acceptance and desire through a cunning interpretation of unity.

Inevitability, a foundational principle of being here, now.

Horses usher us into inevitability through spiralling us into the depth of presence we are asking for, even when we don’t realise it… we are asking.

There is no greater language than the reflective path you choose to walk in this life. The soul does not need to know, it is the human who seeks by default, finding the inverse, the truth, the bright side of the self through what is obscured. The question is - Can you bear to face it?

Holding all that is necessary at this time, and perhaps also...nothing at all.

About Dilara Pataudi

Creating a shift in perspective from separation to oneness through the channel of Healing. Dilara Pataudi is an Equine Craniosacral Therapist - Reiki Master - Advanced Animal Healer - Animal Communicator and all round advocate for connection between the Human & Horse.

What is Equine Craniosacral Therapy?

The healing modality (Equine) Craniosacral Therapy is a closely related to Osteopathy. With a primary focus on the 'core link' in the body, encompassing the Cranium (head) and Pelvis through the connective presence of the spinal chord practitioners work with extremely light hands on techniques to engage their focus with the 'Craniosacral System' of the body. The practitioner of Equine Craniosacral Therapy is called to work intimately with his/ her own intention. Partnering anatomicaly knowledge with the lanaguage of the body in a way which optimisez freedom on motion and balance throughout.

Domesticated horses, especially those in work, are regularly exposed to a variety of external influences which can cause the body to come out of alignment. On a daily basis we see causes such as: ill fitting tack, pull backs, improper feeding height, bad dentistry, falls, accidents in the trailer / lorry / field etc, injuries from contact during competition (especially in Polo, Show Jumping, Cross country). The simple application of bit pressure upon the Mandible (jaw) has a direct impact on the rest of the body! In Craniosacral Work we honour the fact that all bodily structures are deeply connected. The relationship between each bone in the Cranium, between the Cranium and Pelvis, the ribs, diaphragm, sternum, spine, and the list goes on. What this means is that when one part of the body, and with horses A LOT of this circles around the cranium, is out of balance, there will be other conjoining parts which are also out due to their immediate compensatory relationship with the original trauma.
