Peterhead Boys Club would like to thank Cheryl Jones for donating a new defibrillator which is now positioned at Ugie Park for all to use. For many years Cheryl has been the face of and a strong advocate for first aid in the North East. This donation is testament to her heart for the local community.💙

When we put out a request for community support to provide a defib she responded to the request immediately and has even offered further support to make sure it is kept in great working order.

From all at PBC and the local community we would like to say a massive thank you. Your kindness and commitment is much appreciated. ❤️ Cheryl Jones

At this time of year we work at many outdoor events. One of the most common incidents involves bites and stings. Yesterday we treated a bee sting in the arm and thankfully we carry an excellent piece of kit called Aspivenin.
This helps avoid itching, pain and unpleasant reactions. The suction mini pump removes all injected venom from insects and some rash inducing plants.
In the case of the bee, by allowing aspiration for 2-3 minutes before removing the stinger reduces the venom entering the body because the presence of the stinger facilitates that.

We were delighted to cover the APR (Australian Pursuit Race) this week for Deeside Thistle, an exciting race with many riders and great conditions. Looking forward to the Jolibar and the Ellon Crit races in August amongst others 🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
