Manual Therapy and Pilates in North Devon and online
My approach to helping clients focuses on relieving discomfort and restoring balance within the body. Each session is intuitively guided and tailored to meet the unique needs of the individual, recognizing that the body is constantly changing. This dynamic process evolves with each treatment, ensuring that each session remains relevant and responsive to the body's needs. My early career as a dancer sparked an interest in the moving body, which naturally transitioned into massage, soft tissue therapy, and Pilates. Over the years, I have honed my skills and developed a broad range of therapeutic techniques, deepening my understanding of the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. Currently, I reside in the wilds of North Devon working from clinics in Bideford and Barnstaple . Movement continues to play a vital role in my life, and I understand the challenges of returning to a movement practice after a period of inactivity. To further support my clients, I also offer mat-based Pilates sessions as a BASI-trained instructor. I am currently training with Karin Gurtner in FAMO fascia movement, integrating this approach into my classes and sessions to provide an even more holistic movement experience. I am passionate about enhancing well-being through bodywork, massage, and nature-based practices, and I am committed to contributing to your wellness journey.

Next week I’ll be running the Bideford 10-Miler, so I’ve designed this weeks sessions around prepping the body for running. You don’t need to be a runner to join in — these sessions are all about building strength, stability, and mobility to support healthy movement and avoid injury!
We’ll work on dexterity and stability in the feet and ankles, explore spirals and back extensions, and in my MELT session, focus on hip and rib releases to help free up your breath and improve overall alignment.
Whether you’re training for a race or just want to move better, this week is all about supporting your body to move with ease and resilience.

These sessions are a chance to slow down and reset. Using soft massage balls, we work with the fascial system—your body's connective tissue network—to support hydration, natural collagen production, and better movement. It's the perfect end-of-day practice to release tension and restore balance.
What happens in a MELT class?
We begin with a warm-up and some body awareness exercises, using the balls and simple movement to bring your attention bodywide.
Then we come down to the floor for:
Muscle activation work
Pin-and-stretch techniques using the ball
Rolling massage across different areas of the body
Alongside the physical benefits, MELT also promotes deep relaxation through breath regulation and enhances proprioceptive awareness (your sense of where your body is in space). Over time, this practice can improve mobility, tissue tone, and overall ease of movement.
Whether you're looking to unwind, move better, or simply take some time for yourself, these sessions offer gentle, effective support for your body and nervous system.

I have worked with a range of clients into top class skiers (pre competition and rehabilitation), weightlifters, circus performers, office workers and anyone who needs a bit of treat for their body, I love a challenge and to help people find balance in their body and bring relief to any strains and discomfort they are experiencing.
My soft tissue therapy treatments combine trigger point therapy, neuromuscular release, deep tissue and myo-fascial release.
I have also spent over 3 years working with those living with Dementia and use a more gentle approach here working with the families to create a unique treatment for them and their loved ones. These treatments are very personal and I provide an aftercare service for each family and care home to help them on their journey.
Sports and Remedial -Aiming to reduce the chances of injury and increase chances of recovery and improve performance. This is a deep, strong massage if necessary and treatments can often involve assisted stretching and muscle release work.
Biodynamic Massage - This treatments helps guide the body into a place of balance and harmony. The unique nature of this therapy is the use of a stethoscope which is placed on the clients abdomen during the massage and using the sound of the psycho peristalsis to help guide and tailor the treatment to the client to aid emotional and physical release and support. This treatment does not use oil and can client can be clothed.
Biodynamic Massage is great for those interested in exploring the mind-body connection through touch, whether it be for insight into specific bodily issues, or as a means to self-discovery and change.
About the therapist:
I trained at the London School of Sports and Remedial Massage and the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre specialising in Biodynamic Massage and am a professional member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and Association of Biodynamic Massage Therapists.
Following an injury in my professional dance training I appreciate the mental, physical and emotional strain this can have on an individuals body and mind and general well being.
I believe that soft tissue therapy can help re- educate the body , creating a positive and lasting effect on the body and mind and bringing a sense of control and confidence back to the individual.
I am interested in the emotional anatomy and physiology of the body and am sensitive to how the body responds whilst providing a safe and comfortable space for it to find a place to adjust and move to create a good support to which to work and function.
I look at massage and soft tissue therapy not just as a remedy but a preventative to help protect the body as well as provide relief from aches and pains.
