The National Medical Director of the NHS, Professor Stephen Powis, has claimed pharmacies were “largely unaffected” by severe pressures last week…

Pointing to the more than 700 pharmacies that have closed since 2015, Dr Hannbeck (CEO of AIMp) told C+D that it was “an astonishing statement to publicly denounce pharmacies as business as usual”.

The DH has said “no assessment has been made” on the impact of funding on pharmacy closures since 2019…

With Pharmacy Minister Neil O’Brien going on to claim “80% of the population” live within 20 minutes walking distance to their nearest pharmacy.

Community pharmacy needs our support! 💪

The pressure on pharmacists is beginning to take its toll, with “an alarming 96 per cent [saying] they were at risk of burnout” in a recent Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and Pharmacist Support Workforce Wellbeing Survey.

And with a further 73% of respondents having considered leaving their job, or the pharmacy profession entirely, it’s clear that something needs to change soon…
