Hello and Welcome! I'm Camilla, I teach Beginners Hatha Yoga Classes in Hollingbury and Preston Park, Brighton. I have been teaching for the past 16 years and hold a Senior Yoga Teacher 500 hour credential with the Yoga Alliance. My classes are tailored for complete beginners or for those returning to practice and who prefer a slower pace. You'll learn the traditional and foundational hatha yoga postures, along with mindful movement practices that help to mindfully stretch and tone the whole body, ease muscle tension and tightness and calm the mind, bringing you back to balance. We practice breathwork and relaxation techniques to help release stress, calm the nervous system and promote inner well-being. **NEW BEGINNERS YOGA CLASS**

Starting Thursday 4th September

6pm - 7.15pm

at the Gathering Place, Hollingbury.

**First Class £5**

I am really excited to be bringing this class to Thursday evenings in this lovely quiet venue. The class is going to be ideal for you if you are looking to start yoga or are returning to practice and prefer a slower pace.

The classes will involve:

*Mindful movement and traditional yoga postures to help improve overall mobility, flexibility and strength so you can feel better in your body.

*Body sensing and body awareness to help you feel more connected to your body, more grounded and calm

*Breath awareness and breathing practices to help regulate the nervous system, helping you release stress and tension.

*Guided relaxation and mindfulness practices to help you feel balanced and more at peace.

Joining a yoga class for the first time can feel intimidating as a newbie.

Maybe you've seen social media posts showcasing advanced yoga poses which are unrealistic and it's put you off.

Maybe you're worried you are not flexible enough and will not be able to keep up or maybe you've already tried a class and it has felt too strong and left you feeling frustrated.

I completely get it which is why I have set up my complete Beginners Yoga Classes designed to introduce you to yoga in a slow and comfortable way that supports your body and nurtures your mind.

My classes take you through the movements step by step with clear instructions and guidance.

The yoga postures are practicing in a way that is accessible and achievable. It's a non-competitive atmosphere where I encourage you to listen to your body and to feel and adjust to what's right for you.

Each week builds on the previous week so you can track your progress and develop your confidence gradually.

Many students who have attended my beginners classes have told me it's been a refreshing change to attend a class where they understood the instructions and they had autonomy over their movement which left them feeling empowered.

So if you are at the start of your journey and are looking for a class that is supportive and encouraging then I would love for you to join me.

I am super excited to announce my new Beginners Yoga Class starting at the Hollingbury Golf Club!! This is a rare opportunity to practice in this venue with gorgeous views across the green course in a large spacious room. There is a nice cafe to use afterwards if you like too! Come join me and experience the power of practicing in a community group class!
**Starts Wednesday 2nd June 10am - 11.15am**
**First Trial Class £5**
Suitable for complete beginners, if you are returning to practice or if you just like a slower pace.

Stiff upper back? Try this kneeling cat cow. I find it gets nicely into the upper back and between the shoulders blades helping to relieve stiffness and improve thoracic spine mobility.
Give it a go :)

Happy Easter All. I hope you are enjoying the long weekend.

My next 6 week block of Beginners Yoga classes will start Monday 12th May at the Old Boat Community Centre, Hollingbury.

We've recently had some lovely newcomers join our community :)

The class is currently fully booked but I'm looking at adding another class locally so stay tuned for future updates :)

Spinal Roll from standing is a great way to improve the flexibility of your spine and legs whilst helping remove muscle tightness. I also find it releases tension in the shoulders and neck.

* Start standing with feet hip width

* Roll down over your legs starting with your head first

* Keep your knees bent and abdominals toned throughout.

* Exhale as you roll down. Inhale as you roll back up.

* Mindfully roll down vertebra by vertebra from the top of the spine all the way down to the base of the spine.

* Move slowly without strain.

* Repeat up to x 3 rounds

~ contraindications - do not practice this if you have a herniated disk.

Have you been thinking of starting yoga but don't know where to begin? Come join my Beginners Yoga Class on Monday evenings 6pm - 7.15pm in Hollingbury Community Centre - The Old Boat Corner.

This class is tailored for complete beginners and you will be welcomed no matter what level or ability you feel you have.

We practice with a slow, mindful pace focusing on yoga stretches and movements that help ease muscle tension and tightness whilst improving mobility, flexibility and strength. I offer options and modifications so everything we practice is accessible with 1-2-1 guidance when needed.

You will learn gentle yogic breathing techniques that help to reduce stress and anxiety and help you feel calm.

Each class ends with a lying guided relaxation.

***Next 6 weeks of classes starts Monday 10h March - Monday 14th April 6pm - 7.15pm a the Old Boat Corner Community Centre.

***Taster Class - Monday 10th March*** £5
