Anna Traer and Sarah Skerman are the Directors of Empowering Families of Children with SEND Ltd. Anna has extensive experience in supporting parents of children with SEND to successfully navigate the education, health and care system to secure the best outcomes for children. Her extensive experience includes:

30 years as an educational profession including as a teacher, SENCO, School Senior Leader and Local Authority SEN Panel member. Personally navigating the education system as a parent to secure appropriate provision for her own child with SEND. Working for national organisations to provide advice and advocacy for parents of children with SEND in both a general capacity and to provide specific First Tier Tribunal support. Anna is committed to supporting parents to secure the best possible outcomes for their children in order that they will meet their full potential and aspirations. She personally understands what an isolating process ensuring appropriate education for your child with SEND can be. Her aim is to prevent parents becoming overwhelmed by the SEND education process, which she achieves by working closely with parents to empower them to secure the outcomes that they and their children deserve. Sarah is a qualified Early Year practitioner and SENDCo with a wealth of professional experience and takes a key role within Empowering Families, supporting parents with EHCP matters, including draft EHCP checks and EHC Needs Assessment requests. She believes that knowledge is empowering and that parents are their child's best advocates. She is committed to supporting parents to gain the knowledge necessary and build on that knowledge to empower them to stand up for their children’s rights. We work hard for our community and fiercely protect our intellectual property. Members found to be sharing or reusing our resources without permission will be removed and blocked from future admittance.
