We're really excited and proud that Sunnyside have been shortlisted in the national Learning Disability Awards this year for their amazing annual football competition!

Today was the annual Choice Care Footaball Tournament at Sunnyside! Everyone had such a wonderful day - with lots of teams playing - delicious food and a wonderful welcome from the Sunnyside team.

Well done to Hurst House winning for the third year in a row and to runners up, Gosford Lodge, and to all of the other wonderful teams who took part!

Thank you so much to the Sunnyside team for organising and hosting, and thank you to everyone who came along from across Choice Care!

Today has been a very exciting day...

Valerie, our Chief Executive Officer, was a guest at Duvet Flip, the UK's leading career show, shining a light on the impact careers in social care have.

Reflecting on her own career journey, she also shared how the successes and challenges she has experienced have led her to where she is today - creating a place where both colleagues and the people we support can thrive 💚

We're incredibly excited to share the full episode and continue to be a positive voice in the social care sector, but for now, we couldn't resist sharing some behind the scene shots 📸

We talked to N about the amazing volunteering he does at the Donkey sanctuary. His favourite part? Spending time with the donkeys. “I like going to the donkeys because it makes me happy,” he says. “I brush them, I feed Timothy, and the donkeys run fast. Sometimes they’re really loud!”

The theme for this year's Learning Disability Week 2025 was “Do You See Me? It's all about being seen, heard and valued – and at Choice Care, that’s exactly what we strive to ensure every day.

We’re proud to support people like James and David, who are thriving in environments where they’re empowered to grow, connect and discover new passions.

James has found a love for gardening through a wellbeing programme at Gloucester Cathedral – even receiving a Gardening for Wellness award! Since moving to Stroud Lodge, he’s become more confident and independent, supported by a team that truly understands him.

David, who lives at Caernewydd Farm, is equally thriving – whether he’s helping deliver lambs at 3am, volunteering in his community, or playing prop for the Llanelli Warriors rugby team.

These stories are a powerful reminder: when people with learning disabilities are truly seen, heard and supported, there’s no limit to what they can achieve.

This , we’re celebrating all the people we support – and the incredible teams who make it possible.
