☎️ Important Update: The Landline Phone System Is Changing – Here’s What You Need to Know 📡

Across the UK, the traditional landline phone system is being switched off and replaced with a new digital network.

🔌 This means your landline will soon work via an internet connection rather than the old analogue wires. Don’t worry, it will still work much the same as before but there are important things you need to check, especially if you use a telecare or fall alarm that connects to your phone line.

Do you or a loved one use a personal alarm, fall pendant, or careline device?
👉 If yes, it’s vital you contact your landline provider to make sure it will continue to work after the switch.

🗓️ The changeover is happening gradually until January 2027, but some providers like BT and Virgin Media O2 are already switching customers.

At Heart to Heart Home Care, we don’t just pass on the message, we take action. We have already started working with our clients and their families to contact landline providers and ask the right questions. We will continue to offer one-to-one support to our clients until the switchover is complete.

Important Update: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 '𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲'

We welcome the government’s latest move to legally protect the title ‘nurse’, ensuring only those currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) can use it.

👉 Under these new measures, anyone who falsely describes themselves as a nurse without the appropriate qualifications and active registration will be committing a criminal offence.

Why does this matter?
💡 Patients and families need to know that the care and advice they receive is coming from a qualified, accountable, and regulated professional.
💡 Shockingly, until now, even those struck off for serious misconduct or criminal convictions could still call themselves a nurse.

This change is a vital part of the government’s Plan for Change, aimed at boosting safety, raising care standards, and building public trust in our health and care services.
