🛠️🧼DIY Guide: Maintenance on Natural Stone Headstones.

Natural stone headstones — Including marble, Portland stone, Sandstone, and Limestone — are porous materials that absorb moisture and are greatly affected by weathering.
Regular, gentle headstone cleaning and memorial maintenance will help preserve them.
We’ve added a simple guide of (Do’s and Don'ts) below.

✅ Do’s:
• A hard-bristled (non-metal) brush can lift surface build-up
• Use a plastic scraper to remove moss, lichen, bird droppings.
• A very fine grade sandpaper
• A professional "natural stone cleaner.
• Clean engraved lettering with a soft sponge and water.

❌ Don’ts:
• Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
• Do not use blades, or metal tools.

🧐TOP TIP:
A breathable stone sealant designed for porous materials can help protect memorials from the weather year-round.

“Start the Monday morning off with a headstone repair in 📍Feltwell, Suffolk.

Sadly, these memorials had sunk and subsided due to poor ground conditions.
We have now raised and levelled the headstones, properly compacted the ground, and installed concrete pads to ensure it is safe, secure, and long-lasting.
