My appointment calendar is open and booking from the 9th November. I am filling up already with pregnant and post natal people which is just wonderful. Please do get in touch if you can't find a date that suits you, I have some flexibility and I do work with other amazing therapists as well.

The booking system has been upgraded to reflect the changes which are happening behind the scenes as Bumps moves over to Origin Massage. You get the same high quality pregnancy and post natal massage service, just in new branding.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alison recently, who has started offering doula services in Sheffield. We have some really amazing doulas, but always more people who need them. Doula services are absolutely worth their weight in gold and I would encourage you to research what a doula can offer you and chat with people to find the right fit. I wish Alison all the best with her new calling.

I am absolutely full this week which is wonderful. Please be aware I am having some time off in October so won't be making any appointments for myself. I will however be able to recommend some wonderful therapists who work with me at the Wellness Centre. I'll be introducing them this week.

If you'd like a pregnancy massage with someone who is positive and encouraging about labor and birth, then I am your person! I met a lovely client today who had been told that 'labor would be the most painful thing she'd ever experience...' Now, I am not denying the power and breathtaking intensity of labor and birth, but how incredibly damaging is this rhetoric? How can this person chrystal ball gaze with such clarity about someone's future birth experience? The audacity amazes me. I won't make you empty promises, but I will passionately recount my experiences and empower you to feel differently, if you want.

We run a new parent group called The Fourth Trimester - now in its eighth year, and all online for a while now. We focus on the needs of the new parent, helping them understand their baby and themselves, and why everything can feel so complicated and difficult. This week we have looked at mental health - how being a new parent can have major impacts on mental health, and it is not because of weakness or failure. Here's a nice graphic illustrating some of the ways becoming a new parent can affect mental health.

'.......I had no idea arm massage could be so relaxing!'

My post natal client, this afternoon. I always suggest finishing a massage to include arms and hands, especially if shoulders are sore. We really are all connected through our bones, muscles and fascia, and our forearms and hands work HARD when we are looking after small babies.
