Back to work after the Christmas break and those familiar aches and pains are creeping back in?

It’s often not the computer but how we’re using ourselves while sitting at it! We get so drawn in to what we are doing, we collapse and crush the spine, therefore causing undo stress and tension on the body.

The Alexander Technique helps you let go of this unnecessary tension and re-educates the body to move and work with greater ease and freedom, whether you’re at a desk or going about your daily life.

If you’re feeling tight, tense or uncomfortable, get in touch to find out how the Alexander Technique can help.

On my walk last night with Blossom 🐶, I realised how cold it was 🥶! The cold makes us contract and pull ourselves in, but this actually makes things worse as well as leading to more stiff, tense joints so aches and pains get worse.

The best way to combat the cold is to expand into it. Let the breath expand your rib cage and feel yourself get wider and taller into the space around you. This will improve blood flow and circulation and make you feel warmer. The added bonus is your muscles won’t be tensing so you’ll feel less achey! Give it a try and let me know how you get on.

Lovely feedback from after giving her a short introduction to the Alexander Technique.

Even within those 5 minutes she could pick up on the subtle and sensitive touch of an Alexander Technique teacher’s hands. The gentle touch guides and helps quieten the nervous system, allowing the release of deep muscular tension. This can lead to feelings of warmth, lightness, fluidity, ease, or a feeling of become taller.
