Earth. Air. Fire. Water.
They’re not just spiritual symbols, they’re anchors. Ancient, steady, and always available in some form.
Earth, to ground
Stand with both feet on the floor. Press your toes down. Feel the weight of your body being held. If you can, step outside and let the ground take some of what you’re carrying.
Air, to clear
Open a window. Change the air. Take three slower breaths than usual, longer exhale than inhale, as if you’re gently fogging a mirror. Let your breath create space.
Fire, to transform
Light a candle and set one quiet intention: “Today, I choose steadiness.” Watch the flame for 30 seconds. Let it remind you that energy can change shape, even when life feels stuck.
Water, to cleanse
Wash your hands slowly. Splash your face. Drink a glass of water with presence. Imagine the day rinsing off you, not because you’re avoiding it, but because you’re releasing what doesn’t need to stay in your body.
