L T & R VOWLES LTD
Founded in Gloucester in 1937 as a general timber yard.

The company began specialising in cutting and drying English elm/oak boards for the funeral industry in 1947 at a modern sawmill in Ashleworth. By 1963, with the advent of the Veneered Chipboard Coffin, Vowles moved to it’s present site in Upton-upon-Severn where full scale production commenced. Run on a day-to-day basis by Mr Chris Barker and the team, deliveries are made nationally. Vowles is also home to our “Colourscape” brand and is the centre for our national showroom.

Chris Barker, General Manager for LT & R Vowles.
Chris' career in the industry began in 2008 as a sprayer/finisher. Joining the team in 2023 as General Manager. His priority is to work closely with Funeral Directors ensuring the needs of the families in their care are met fully at what is a most sad and difficult time.
